Had a great time again tonight! (y) The show wasn't all that different from Seattle, but I didn't mind because the Boys kicked so much ass once again. I danced like crazy and got all sweaty and my voice is on its way out... good times! :D And now I am so tired after all that driving back and forth to Seattle yesterday and driving my nephews to Abbotsford and then back home to they city tonight after the show, but it was sooooooo worth it.

Seeing a beastie boys concert was on my top 10 list for things I wanted to do in my lifetime and I'm glad to say I can scratch it off my list because I flew out to the Vancouver show from Saskatoon and was not dissapointed at all. The show was fucking incredible and worth every dollar. The memories will be fresh for a long time and if I could afford it I'd go see them again somewhere else. Thanks for all the pics everyone. If anyone has some more video clips that would be really cool to see as well! :)

Ya, my sister, and two friends of us came. We drove to the Hilton on Burrard and wandered around for 20 minutes, then asked hotel staff about the "Edmund Fitzgerald room" or if Edmond Fitzgerald was staying there. No luck.

We had heard they were going to go to Richards on Richards, at 130, we left because they were at maximum occupancy but if we slipped the bouncer 5 bucks each, we could go in as long as we promised not to be mental or anything. Judging by the patheticness of the bouncer, I'm guessing that the beastie boys were not at Richards on Richards.

ps, any fire marshalls reading this should stand in line at Richards on Richards after 1 with a ticket book

Hey everyone, this is my first post here. I signed onto the board after buying tickets for the Toronto show. I live in Halifax, but I'm flying my ass to Toronto just for the show. After reading this thread, and checking out the awesome photos and videos, I'm even more pumped than ever.

On the topic of photo's and videos, my ticket says "no cameras, video" etc. Did the people who went to the Vancouver show have any problems with this? I'd love to bring my digital camera (which has a video function), but I don't want to risk being denied admittance, or am I really worrying about nothing?

No recording devices are allowed. I don't recommend bringing a digicam unless you're a fair distance from security. You get patted down at the entrance so think of an inventive place to hide your camera.

I just bought a disposable that way if I lost it I wouldn't really care.

Whoever is wondering where the concert bootleg is.... I spoke with Freedom Toast and he said that his standalone CD burner is not working; which is what he uses to get the music off his mini disc.

He said he'd put it online once he gets it fixed.

He didn't say when that will be.

Hey, keep this surviving. Okay, so the concert. It's been about a month since the concert and it's so weird because I've saturated myself with so much Beastie Boys stuff, like the DVD and CD's and all that jazz, that it feels like the concert was a dream. Like it wasn't even real. That's frustrating kinda. But thank god for possible recording because then it'll be real again I think. Yauch was awesome. He was so funny. haha totally dude, my buddy and i were like 2 sections to the left of the stage, and we were watching her basically all the way on the other sid eo fthe arena, she was pretty hawt though, and you're right she didn't stop ALL night lol, we kept looking to see if she had stopped every 10 minutes or so and she never did (we got inside the colleseum like an hour and a half too early :( so we had time to kill)

I spoke with Freedom awhile back and he said he didn't know how to dub it into his computer from his minidisc because he usually uses a stand alone CD burner that is currently broken. If that's the issue, I'm willing to dub the minidiscs for everyone if Freedom will send them to me. I'll even paypal him some kind of a deposit, if he's worried about me keeping them. (which I won't)

K, I created a user account for Freedom Toast on my FTP and sent him the l/p

Once its in there, I'll transfer it to a public directory and send everyone the link. From what I gathered Seattle is done, so maybe he'll upload it soon.

If I get it as one big file for each concert, I was, with Freedom Toast's permission, going to seperate it into MP3's for each song/part. That way it will be easier to download and you'll be able to cue through the songs in your media or CD player.

If you really want Emile I can mail you a disc when I get ahold of it. As far as tape goes, I don't think I have one of those kicking around anymore. :D


Woah..if you can mail me a copy..that would be sooo awesome and i'm willing to paid for it too. I used to have tons of tapes lying around...probably still do. Some times it comes in handy.

yes, it is done. the b-boys set is about 100 min, so it fits on 2 CDs. i threw on the MMM set (about 45 min) and also 2 rarities -- B-Boys w/ Elvis Costello on SNL doing Radio Radio and also back in 94 or so doing Sure Shot on SNL.

I am attaching my bootlist; hopefully we can trade for some stuff.

Yeah lossless would be dope. Doesn't matter to me who distributes it. In fact the more people distributing the merrier. :D

Being that its a live recording under conditions that are less than ideal, I'm not so sure there would be much of a noticeable quality difference between an MP3 and WAV file.

Another issue I see with .wav is file size. As a general rule wav's are 10 megs for each minute. If the set is 100 minutes, we're looking at a 1000MB to download. That could even take awhile with a high speed connection. Not to mention bandwidth issues for all who want a copy.

MP3's are a 10th of the size if compressed at 128k/bit second. So 100MB.
Thats a feasable download for dial up users even.

I agree that wav's would be nice, but I'd like to just get a copy of the MP3's first and worry about that later considering that Freedom Toast sounds pretty busy and all.
