Mine was in 1997 at the Tibetan Freedom Concert in SF. It was an amazing to see so many great bands on one bill but the best part of the day of course was the Beasties. They even did a few of the songs off of Aglio E Olio, which rocked. Also Hurricane was still their DJ. He was a very fine dj of course but nowhere near MMM, but to be fare, who is. Oh and if you were wondering some of the other bands included RATM, Smashing Pumpkins, RHCP, Foo Fighters, Beck, Sonic Youth, Cibo Matto, John Lee Hooker, Fugees, and Buddy Guy.

Licensed to Ill tour 1986 - Birmingham Odean Uk, with Run DMC and Davy-D.
20ft inflatable penis with a can of Budweiser on top it :D and the girl in the cage :p
aaah memories
Aug 98 in Minneapolis (In the Round Tour)...very good with the rotating stage and what made it so good was it was the last show Tribe Called Quest ever played. It just gives me more incentive to head to Voodoo in N.O.

Summr 1995 in T.O. Ill Communication tour.
Bad Brains were supposed to open but one of the members couldn't get across the border. Damnit!
haZe36 - that must've been fuckin' crazy! Man I wouldv'e liked to be there! Then again, I was 12 years old in '86 so maybe 20 ft penises wouldn't have been the best thing for me at that age
I do remember reading an article Hit Parader magazine about the Boys and their whacked out LTI tour.

'86 or '87, Raisin' Hell Tour with Run DMC. :D
It was a lot of fun, great show, but certainly doesn't compare to seeing them live these days.

First time - Summer 1992 - Center Stage, Atlanta. Check Your Head was a recent release. Fantastic show. Great smaller venue. I was able to get up to the stage. Went with my younger brother - the previous summer we had gone on a cross-country road trip together and bonded over a nearly non-stop playing of our Beastie Boys.
I was in college at the time so alot of friends had gone away for the summer break so it was great when they came back so soon and played at the Georgia State auditorium so I could share it with school friends. I am guessing that was in early 1993 (my memory of dates is terrible). That was a crazy show - no seating just one big open floor - think basketball court with the bleachers pushed up against the wall. And some knucklehead left mats on the floor which got a bunched up and caused many a person to bust their ass. Great show but I wish I hadn't been distracted by the fight to stay upright - in my defense I'm just a petite little girl. :o

Glasgow Barrowlands, in 1988.
Great show in a great venue. The DJ battle between Davey D and Hurricane (I think) was mindblowing
Can anyone remember who the first support band were? I think they were a UK (Scottish?) group called Crack (got lots of press at the time but I don't think they ever released a record).

Tibetan Freedom Concert in Wisconsin in '99. That was the day I was also made aware of the wonder that is The Roots.
I had second row center seats for the Rhyme and Reason tour, but we all know how that turned out... :(

1998 Tibetan Freedom Concert. My first concert ever, I bought tickets for my guy friend's birthday because he absolutely loved the Boys. 3/4 of the way through the set he said "Let's go, I've heard all these songs before," so I was like "Um, okay!" cuz I didn't really know much about them and was indifferent. Then I taped Beastieography for him the next week because he was at work and I watched it and was like HOLY SHIT! And the rest is history.

Reading Festival 30th August '92. As well as BBoys, Nirvana (headliners), Mudhoney, Nick Cave, Melvins, L7, Lunachicks, Rollins Band played amongst others. I got backstage cos my cousin was working at the festival & I met L7 through the Lunachicks (who I'd interviewed for a mates fanzine earlier that week) & they were cool. Got told to fuck off by Nick Cave!! Didnt unfortunately meet the bboys but was a great day despite lots of mud!! I remember it fondly. :D

First show 1994 - Maple Leaf Gardens - Fantastic show, but Bad Brains were a no show (due to being in jail) - But at least I saw the Beasties!
I was at the Molson Park show in '98 as well - great day out. Tribe was a no show due to breaking up, but the Biz Mark covered nicely. and course I got to see the Beasties.
I had tix for the Beasties/Rage tour, Rage Broke up, Mike hurt himself and the TOUR WAS CANCELED OF COURSE. I didn't even get to see the Beasties!
Something always seems to go wrong when they are about to play Toronto (I don't mean to jinx or anything...
So now I've got floor tix for the ACC show. The way I see it they owe me BIG TIME after all the last bullshit......
j/k I know that shit wasn't your fault Beasties!
See y'all at the ACC!

Mine was at Reading 1998, despite being a long term fan (I still have a bootleg license to ill tourshirt from 1987!)
There were a whole bunch of cool bands on, Supergrass, Foo fighters, The Prodigy (who mentioned that the B-boys had asked them not to play 'smack my bitch up' but did anyway).
Mix master Mike did a killer 20 minute Skratch-a-thon, The Boys themselves were truly in Effect.
In the Pit during Sabotage was AWESOME.
I missed my train back to London and had to kip on the cold hard tiles at Reading station, but it was well worth it

Mine was February 1992 at the infamous and now defunct (and demolished) IBeam in SF. They played with Cypress Hill, Fu Schnickens (sp?) and MCM & the Monster. It was the Gavin Music Festival I think.

Last Year at what was supposed to be the Field Day Festival - which turned into a 1 day rainy mess. Not to mention I was like a mile away from the b-boys when they performed. and then having to sit through a freakin 2 hr radiohead set. Beasties were cool....but I am way more excited to see them in Detroit in November!!!!!!!!!!!!
