I got tix, but not GA--they were all sold out by last night. I'm in the club section. Kind of sucks, but I'll bring my binoculars. :)

Okay, the public sale hasn't happened yet though, right? That's at Noon Chicago time today?

Pre-sale didn't have any decent seats left so I decided to wait.

Yep. Noon today. Good luck!

Hey, Beastie Boys are finally the front page band/tour on the Ticketmaster.com home page!

-MThanks! Yeah, I noticed they made front page. (y)

I hope we get decent tickets. This is my birthday present if we get tickets... trip to Chicago from Vancouver (I LOVE Chicago, great city) and we'll be renting a car from the airport and scooting up to Madison for that show. So, if all goes well, Chicago will be my 4th show on this tour... can't wait!!! :D

There's nowhere in walking distance. The United Center is situated in a really rough area. It might be better to pick a pub/bar in the loop, then hop on a bus or cab. The United Center always has busses running to and from the loop for concerts and games.

Ticketmaster sucks ass.Nah, sorry, I'd only do it if it were the sections right by the stage. I could have had seats back there when I bought too. But, hey, you gotta try! ;)

I think I'm going to keep my floor tix. It looks like we'll be hooked up with enough people from here that it'll be all good. There was some floor seats up for sale here not too long ago though and then someone else who was looking for seats to the show. Do a search and maybe you can wheel'n'deal your way down on to the floor. (y)

Take my word for it. The United Center is smack (no pun intended) dab in the middle of the projects, I'm not kidding. There are lots of bars in the West Loop, but that's still not walking distance.

Wow, I'm glad someone asked about the bar situation. I just assumed there would be bars nearby. Do they serve mixed drinks inside?

Is it easy to get a cab back downtown afterwards?

I'm coming down from Minneapolis with a friend who's never seen Beastie Boys. I'm hoping you people in Chicago put on 1/2 as good a show for her as the New Yorkers at MSG.

Plus, someone from Chicago -- I can't tell from the seating charts. Am I going to be able to see the front of the stage from Section 121? Or am I facing the side of the stage head on? Not that it matters cause I'm sitting there no matter what, but I've been wondering.

It's impossible to find a cab in that area! (I won't go into it, but I had a really hellish experience once.) Luckily, though, the United Center runs shuttle busses to and from the loop (downtown) before and after events. I'm not sure if they serve mixed drinks, but the beer is bad and damn pricey. Your best bet may be to hit the bars downtown, then hop in a cab for the United Center.

Depends how much you're prepared to fork out. Cab would be easiest, but it would be much cheaper to take the el from Midway to the loop and then catch a cab from there to United Center. The el's slow, but pretty easy and only costs like $1.85 or something.

Nothing within walking distance, however there is the "Broken Spoke" just a few blocks away on Ogden. If you're heading west on Madison, you would take a right on Ogden, and it's a few blocks down. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a really cool "biker bar" inside (lots of bike stuff, but friendly to non-biker folk!) They have really good food and it's a fun place to go before a show.

First post! Word, all!

I'll be sporting three fresh tickets for section 107, row 10. This is my first B-Boy concert, and first United Center concert. Going with my best friend and my girlfriend, I can't wait!

Does anybody know if sneaking down and jumping onto the floor during the middle of the show would be out of the question? How strict is UC security? For some reason I have a feeling my section seats aren't going to fill me up enough.

frisky girl

You probably got the same e-mail from the United Center, but how about this: the Chicago Brew Pub and Carvery will open up for BB concert goers at 6:00. It's located in the United Center, on the main concourse, section 109. Probably the best bet since there aren't really any bars in the area.
