to those of you who have gone to a show already with GA floor tickets, how early did you show up to get a good spot?

I got there super early, but I probably didn't need to. There wasn't much of a line in Seattle.

bring a jug for when you're in line, and you'll sweat it out when you're inside

when did the line start to get big?

I was thinking about going around 1:00pm but I don't want to make my girlfriend wait that long with me, so maybee I can go around 3:00 or 4:00pm

Having toured with the band on this tour, I can tell you that at most of the shows there's no need to queue up super early for a good spot in GA. I noticed that most people queue about 1-2 hours before the doors open, which is generally adequate. There are some people who queue from 7am for a 6pm door open, but that's just wack. You'll still end up with the same spot as the people getting there 10 hours after you.

I went to the Sep. 16th show in SF. The show started at 7:30 got there at 7 and still got awesome seats. Make sure to check out the dog show, its inspiring.

In San Diego, we arrived just 15 minutes before the doors opened, and were on the front rail for the show. When we got in, everyone sat on the ground to save their spots until the dog show started. If you have to pee once you get in, just have someone hold your place for you - shouldn't be a problem at all.

I chatted with other Beastie fans mostly. I brought a book but barely read it. You probably don't need to get there that early. See minton's post.
