That's just rediculous.

All they have done is plan a whistle-stop tour of Europe, a nice little pay-off for them, they really give a shit about Europe don't they!!
5-6 years for this.. cheers boys.

2 dates in the u.k. is a bit of a kick in the teeth. the boys have such a huge following over here, as i'm sure they know from record sales, and two dates in ENGLAND and none anywhere else in the u.k. is something britney spears or madonna might do. in fact, madonna even played in ireland recently. come on fellas, you even recorded the gig in glasgow the last time you were over. sort it out. at least add scottish and irish dates to the tour. some old fans like myself and others would appreciate it.

It does appear to be a England only tour. I'd be pissed off if I lived in Aberdeen...

I too think its a bit of a piss take. They could easily fill Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield and Carddiff aswell as Manchester and London. Its as if they cant be arsed.

Fair one but consider when the tour started, and it don't finish til 18th Dec in Milano (which im going to!) so thats a fair few months to be on the road then fly home for xmas. Most europpean countries only get one show, but i think maybe spring will bring more good news our way!!!

dont get your hopes up. usually if a band plays 1-3 shows per country there on a major, im not sure if this just a coinsedence (sp). most bands ive seen are here for at least a week and still go to the rest of europe.

i see there are a couple of free dates on either side of the english tour dates. it would be nice if they surprised us with added dates. i understand people saying how fans could travel to manchester/london but some of us just can't take the time off work/leave their wife & kids/even miss school or uni to go see one of their all time favourite hip hop acts (as much as we would like to) in another country. i live in glasgow but i'm irish so i understand how my people in ireland will be annoyed. i am a bit pissed off at these tour dates. i remember when the boys played belfast (10ish years ago?), great gig. then after the mammoth wait for hello nasty, belfast was ignored for the tour. luckily for me i had moved to glasgow by then so i was able to catch them there. i think there were 4 u.k. dates that time. now it's down to 2 and they're both in england. i would appreciate some kind of reason. and it would need to be good. feel let down considering the support we've given the fellas throughout their career (personally coming up to 20 years that i've been gettin down to their music, scary huh?). and i'm not alone. be honest guys, is it becoming a chore for you now? are you turning into the hip hop U2/madonna/metallica? god help us. anyway, i think i'm running out of rant. if it comes back i'll write more. oh, if you do decide to play glasgow, go for the academy rather than the secc. better acoustics. cheers.

yes kiddo, so don't tell us we should be grateful that they've ignored their fans who've spent a lot of money supporting them throughout the years. in fact, what the fuck? is everyone missing the fact that ireland, scotland & wales are european countries too? shazam 21, what are you slabbering about "risking" other venues? of course there would be no risk. they would easily fill another 3 or 4 venues spread across the u.k. oh, and nice for some to jet off to milan to catch another date. not all of us have that opportunity. surely you're taking the place of an italian fan who probably deserves the chance to see them more than some englander. AND how dare you say that we wouldn't appreciate the gig just coz we can't get down south. you're naivity oozes from this monitor.

Nowhere have i mentioned the word 'risk', so i don't really no what your talking bout there. The fact they could fill more venues goes without saying, but if they tried to play every possible venue here, then other places would suffer, i.e. those countries only having one show, and those having non at all. I DO see your point yes, i'm with you on it but consider it from their point of view, they'll be fucked after spending so long on the road. They are triing to please all their fans, not just the british ones, or just the english as it seems. As for me going to Italy, I had to forfeit time off at another time to achieve this, and ive saved money for such events, so i'm making the most of it. The fact that the italians probably won't moan as much as you miserable bastards will make for a good time. Anyhow, enjoy the show

ok, you didn't say risk but "chance" suggests the same thing. and "miserable bastards"? no, i think you want to check out a dictionary now and again. we're not miserable, we're pissed off because we've been left out of the tour schedule. also, you should watch the cheek young un. no need for ignorance here.

Two shows isnt a lot for the fan base over here, perhaps they underestimate it!?! I'm pretty stoaked that i managed to get tickets for london though! Got to remember the boys are'nt as young as they used to be and they've got things like deep vein thrombosis to think about now! :D

Just the two Beastie Boys shows in England is just about right by my reckoning. I attended their dates at Glasgow and Manchester in May '99. Those shows were badly undersold.

huh? there was a great crowd at the glasgow gig. the venue wasn't the best choice but i suppose they had to use the secc for the round stage. maybe that will have given the impression of a smaller crowd. they should take notice of the fugazi chaps who probably have a couple of years on the boys and they still had an extensive schedule in the u.k. my gripe isn't just that there are only two u.k. dates but that they are both in england. that truly sucks ass. what about ireland? if i was still at home i would be furious.

any chance of a response with a reason from one of the guys themselves instead of fans (who've never met each other) gettin on each others nerves in this thread? i don't mean to be abrupt with some of the replies but it's usually to someone who lives within 100-150 miles of london or manchester and has a ticket. they obviously can't empathise with those of us who can't make it to england for various reasons. they're a bit like "well, i've got my ticket so i'm sorted. what are they whinging about?" if i had the time and money to go down to manchester believe me i would. but i don't so i can't.

You are so on the ball j-dog, I was gonna really let fly at 'shazam' the other day, but I just resorted to the single word which summed up what he was perfectly imo. Who are the fans and who are the artists here?? I can't believe there's people out there who have the time and resource to go swanning all over europe to watch the beasties, and then have the wit to call others like ourselves "miserable bastards", "ungrateful" etc.
this is the beasties after all....... not madonna!! seems like she obviously taught the boys something in 1986 eh!
