I'm going to try and compile a Halloween party disc for an upcoming party. What is the best spooky songs or Halloween type music you can impart on me?

My starting list is short. Specials Ghost Town.

YES!!! That song is somethin' else, I tell ya what. Nightmare On My Street is pretty spooky too, but it's probably more funny than spooky.

There's a new album out called Disco Undead which is all 1980s video nasty soundtracks remixed into filthy, bass heavy electro. I'd go for that!

Does anyone else find the video to be just a little bit... hilarious? Think about it, zombies dancin' and prancin' about... It's too funny.

I think Thriller's camp value has been discussed at length, you're not the first to think of it. for transcripts you'll probably have to go back to sometime in the 80s

I recently took a road trip with my best friend, and when that song came out of my ipod, she started laughing and couldn't stop for about 30 minutes.

I've never seen the sketch. :o

I made a sound effects CD for Halloween and played it in the house when kids came to trick or treat. It didn't have music on it--it had windy sounds and subtle creeks and various moanings and groanings.

When my kid got older, I stopped doing that and then I lost that CD.

The other night at 2am, I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. I fumbled around in the dark (in a room where I normally don't sleep) and I put the first CD I came across into a player and it was the scary CD. I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night.

It looks and feels like halloween today. It's like 65 degrees in the house and the leaves on the trees in the front yard are turning red. I need a pomegranate and a pumpkin.

^^ Sounds are far scarier than sights.

You were clearly a fun mom. My mom gave up on even carving a pumpkin when I was about 5.

Our pumpkins were generic. I tried to do fancy ones with stencils and tiny carving tools, but I didn't have the steady hand for it. Or the patience. Really, it was some triangles and a candle. :o

(It wasn't so much that I was a fun mom but more that I just really like Halloween.)

And about carved pumpkins, walking around here in October, you see families of them on porches...like one for the ma, one for the dad, and one each for the kids. Sometimes, you can tell a lot about a person's personality by the way they carve their pumpkin. I find it funniest when one of the carved pumpkin parents looks obviously pissed at one of the carved pumpkin kids.

Thank you! (and I just got to delete the best of Will Ferrell out of my Netflix queue)

Now I get it! My friend's husband is a percussionist, which had to make it even funnier.
