i was just part of an anti-capitalist demonstration.

i was just at the lcbo(liquor store) when to my surprise a kid jumped up on a bench and started letting loose some anti-consumerist poetry.

i watched, because it sounded good, but then the rent-a-cops came in and fucking threw him to the floor, cuffed him and threw out anyone who said anything besides 'yay! jail him!'

i got pissed so i started singing 'O Canada'.

not only was i a patron who bought something, but i also work in the mall during the day.

a group of 30 or so stodd at the door, armed with a bongo and poetry, they danced, rhymed and cursed the cops.

i was happy to help.

it was an offshoot from the poetry/spoken word olympics happening in Ottawa.
