Dude I agree. The intergalatic encore was right behind my section. I was in sect. 226. This girl ran up to Mike D and starting crying like you see they little chinese girls do at the Michael Jackson concerts. It was crazy.

they messed up a few lyrics, in Open Letter and in Brass Monkey, but their banter in between takes made up for it

I was in section 333 so I was pretty close to them when they did the encore. All I can say is that the performance was fucking incredible. Incredible. Jesus christ was that fucking off the chain. Words cant describe how fuckin awesome that concert was. I'm still in shock. They did EVERYTHING! Even 5 tracks from LTI!

No kidding. I guess that news came out today in the 'become an MSG cameraperson' thread. BTW, did any of you do that? Work the cameras?

yeah, we are getting paid and if our footage is used we get credit in the DVD. i tried to nail some tight zoom shots of The Three, and i got some cool images of MMM,the Garden, the crowd, the retired Knicks jerseys...

It could not have been any better. Espically at the Garden in front of thousands of people. The had a great set and an amazing encore(Interglactic and Sabatoge). The appearance of Duggie Fresh and the lil film shots made a very memorable night. It will be one of my favorite memories.

INCREDIBLE SHOW! Doug E. Fresh was a highlight and so was Sabotage, but ending at 10:30 was a little disappointing. I was hoping for at least 2 hours of music.

Just crawling in from last night.... The energy of the show was amazing, I had excellent seats, in the MCA section for TTGI, they got everyone so hyped I was literally jumping up in down in my high heels. The show seemed to last like 10 mins and it was like 90 mins. Too short for my liking but it was the Beastie Boys and I felt like i was 16 again. Its amazing where music can take us, especially the Beasties, from someone who has seen them since the License to Ill tour, i couldnt believe that the energy is still there (well before they could pull off 2-3 hour shows) but their souls are still in it, there will never be another Beastie Boys just like there will never be another Pac. The stage set up for the band was awesome and they looked so cute in their suits. While I would have loved to see Get it Together, No Sleep til Brooklyn and the everyone missed Fight for your Right the amazing set list didnt let me miss them until we were listening to Sounds of Science on the way out. Sabotage was amazing, dedicated to George W......nice Word around the campfire was that they were suppose to come back out but everyone left so fast, which was true, I totally felt that everyone was just hauling ass out, i mean come on beastie boys........stay until at least eleven, but my 11:30 the boys were already on their way out to the Tribeca grand for an afterparty. I loved this show, I needed to shake my ass for 90 mins and just be in awe in probably what is one of the best bands of all times. :) :) :)

I agree: Loved Doug E Fresh beatboxing, and it did end too early. Maybe it's because they are like almost forty. They can't rock it for hours like they used to, maybe? I could be wrong, but I'm almost forty and I couldn't give all that energy for hours like that either.

First I want to say, I have been a B-Boys fan for like 8 years and last night was the first time i seen them. All I got to say is THAT CONCERT WAS THE BEST FUCKING SHIT I EVER DID. I was sitting behind the GA area where the folding chairs were! When hello Brooklyn came on I fucking went nuts. In fact I was going nuts with every song. The sabatoge at the end!! That shit was sick!! I was dancing around like a drunk slob but I never had so much fun.

Me and posse (really just two other people..) were dressed as pimps w/ fedora hats maybe you saw us! I didn't see many other people "dressed to impress" only like some guys down in the pit w/ orange jumpsuits, but then again that's not really dressed up. It was a no sneaker jam and like everyone was wearing sneakers. (y)

By the time 10:30 rolled around I'd pretty much lost my hearing, and my voice. It was a great night. The set list was awesome, and there was so much energy! Just seeing a sold out crowd there standing and screaming every word to every song was something I'll never forget. One of the best nights ever. Oh, and MMM... amazing.

Wow and I didn't realize that they're making a DVD of the show!!!! Thats such great news!

That show freakin' ROCKED! We missed the first half hour because our friend in Maryland who saw them on Friday told us they didn't go on until 10 down there and we were stupid enough to listen to him.

Regardless, we had an AWESOME time. We had floor seats and the view was great....and they played everything I wanted to hear.

Plus...I had never actually seen them play instruments before live and I thought that kicked so much ass. :)

We were standing next to a bunch of guys that had one of the cameras. I had no idea about a DVD either until I asked them what they were doing. (y)

WOW...This show was just crazy!! I mean the energy was just unmeasureable... Chris Rock, Flava Flav, Doug E fresh, DMC...I can hardly speak now from all the screaming i did. If you haven't caught this tour...DO NOT MISS IT...it is worth every penny and then some. I was one of the fortunate few who got to record for the dvd. I don't know how good of a job i did considering i was jumping and screaming most of the time. The free t shirt was NICE... THANK YOU TO THE BOYS FOR A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

PEACE

I totally agree with everybody =D

Yesterday was my first real concert EVER and I'm so glad it was the Beastie Boys.

The vibe and energy in the garden was SPECTACULAR. everybody was on their feet and dancing the whole time and singing along! I loved it and they played all my favorite songs =D.

Yeah that was cool with Doug E. Fresh.. and DMC was in the audience?!

I don't know what i can add that others didn't say already.. the show was unbelievable!

on a side note.. the dog show was kinda cute.. and Twali( i'm not sure that's how you spell it) was cool 2.

I'm so happy and I cant wait till the DVD =D

I gotta agree, that was such a fucking awesome concert. I'm not sure were exactly I was sitting (too lazy to go and get ticket out of my room.) but I had a good view. I was sitting diagonal to the stage, in Yauch's section for Time to get ill.
They had a really awesome choice of songs, but I wasn't a big fan of the opening act. Or the fact that people kept smoking weed in the row behind me and infront of me. Shit smelled horrible.
Anybody else see the drunk guy in the Born 4 Porn t-shirt. Amusing :}.

Yeah, I know there's pot wherever you go. Fuck, the janitors at my school smoke it in their little gathering spot.
They searched my bag, I would think they would at least look for pot or something. You can't smoke cigarettes in the Garden let alone joints.

i was in row C, on the right side near the section of elevated seats.
frequently, i would do a 360 degree pan of MSG.

i have been thinking about this show all day, i am spent, it was an absolutely amazing experience.

One of my favorite moments was when the house lights came up and we were all filing out slowly, two young (well, younger than I am) people behind me were talking about Doug E. Fresh guesting as the beatbox on "Time to Get Ill":

Guy: I can't believe they had Doug E. Fresh!
Girl: (tentatively) Yeah, I'm not really sure who he is. I wouldn't know about any of these guys if it weren't for you.
Guy: (reverently) Doug E. Fresh is from so far back in rap that these guys didn't even use swear words.

That made me smile. And feel old...although not as old as I felt this morning after dancing on top of my chair and screaming most of the evening! Like I had been hit by three trucks. The Beastie Boys are only a couple of years older than I am -- so I have an incredible amount of respect that they are able to put this much energy out at every show when just one night of it was enough to wipe me out! What an amazing night.

Ahh man the only thing that ruined it for me was the smoking. It smelled so bad. I hate smoking and stay away from it at all costs...weed, cigs, whatever, and I could barely inhale by the end of the night and I was so sick the rest of the time.

Okay, I was in Adrock's section and I haven't smelled that much weed since jr. high (or maybe at my last Beck concert!), so apparently it was everywhere. It didn't bother me but it did make me feel old.

KickTheBucket
10-11-2004, 06:33 AM
Not just the weed, but there were at least 50 drunks all around me. Selling champagne for $10 for that tiny glass? Shit. And then afterwards, I was walking down in the really small, windy stairs and I heard this chick fall (sounded like high heels?) and went tumbling down the stairs. Ow.
And I'm glad I wasn't below the upper section, after Sabotage they threw their beer cups down and hit about 10 people in front of me

I've never seen so many happy, drunk, and/or stoned people in one place. What a great show. I was on my feet and dancing throughout (and that's after two days of walking around NYC sight-seeing). My best friend is not even a Beastie fan and as we were crossing 7th Avenue she almost got hit by a cab, she couldn't get over the concert: "That was so fuckin' great! Ohmigod!"

I, for one, dressed up a bit for the occasion, I just need it to be said. And speaking of clothes, I want Yauch's Mah-Jong shirt; I too love a good game of Mah-Jong.

When I was leaving the show, walking down the escalators, there was a whole domino effect... like 3, 4 people fell and crashed into me, but I quickly latched on to the side of the escalator, so I wouldn't fall. They barrelled into the people next to me and almost everyone in front of me and took them down with them. They all went down like pins in a bowling alley. There was a whole tangle of people at the bottom of the staircase. Somehow, this escalated into a fight between 2 of the guys in the pile, and they spent 5 minutes pummeling each other in the head, holding up the line.

I agree, the show was dope! It was awesome that they played different songs than at the Seattle show. I was so pleased to hear Pass the Mic. My seats were great. Section 7 and I got to lean on the barricade where the guard really looked out for me. There were some dudes that insisted I film them, even though they didn't know the words to many of the songs. So irritating.

this was my first concert ever and words can not describe how fuckin awesome it was! setlist was great, energy was great, opener DAMN! everything rocked! especially sabotage! this is gonna be a hard concert to top :)

like i said it was first show ever so i was nervous about smoke green/cigs. i ended up smoking weed in the bathroom stall (only cause i was siting with my dad :() and i must of heard people commenting on the smell a million times. by the time i was done with my joint i was like fuck it, nobodys gonna car if i smoke a cigarette in the bathroom. some people made comments but for the must part everybody was cool. oh well at least next time i go to a concert i'll know that smokings okay (even if there are no smoking signs...lol)
