I just got home from the concert (had to fly back to Minneapolis). You've all covered the fantastic show, but I want to thank the crowd. I had such high expectations flying to NYC to see BB at the Garden and I was a little worried I'd be disappointed. I've never been to the Garden so it might be that way all the time, but the crowd was ten times better than any I've been with at a large show at home.

Before the show, my friend and I hit a local bar and mingled with the concert goers while watching our Twins beating the Yankees back at home via TV. That was surreal. A cop on the street recommended the bar! I insisted on seeing the dog show, so by the time we hit another bar inside MSG after that to check on the game, the Twins had blown their lead (as I knew they would) and by the time the BBs hit the stage Twins had lost.

We were such spazzes because we couldn't believe we were in MSG for BB (and a bit buzzed from the bars), but all the New Yorkers and others couldn't have been nicer to us, even when my friend got in an argument with a Yankee fan about how the Yankees only win because they can afford to pay the most for players! And one Mets fan was actually quite supportive of her position.

:)

I had paid $$$ for the best arena seats of my life and I absolutely lost my mind when MMM came out and the show really started. I hardly know any BB fans back home, so it was like a religious experience for me being surrounded by an arena full of people who knew every word. How come MSG can do the sound so you can hear all the words when other arenas can't??? In my section, the guys (and it was mostly guys) knew all the words and went nuts while the occassional girlfriend was obviously along for the ride. I wondered if I was the only real female BB fan in my section, but then I met a teenage girl who came with her brother and was as excited as I was.

There seemed to be a lot less pageantry, but I'm guessing it's just because New Yorkers are afraid they might look silly. I saw some pretty cool old school fashion accessories, and I asked everyone about theirs. A guy from Jersey said he pulled his VW necklace out of storage for the event.

But again, I can't thank the whole crowd enough for staying on their feet, shouting themselves hoarse, dancing like mad, and keeping it at level 10 the whole time!

It was the same for me... in my vicinity, I was the only girl who was jumping up and down and shouting all the words to every song. All the hardcore fans around me were guys. At one point, I was next to this couple, and the girl looked mad bored. During the break before the encore, she was sitting on her boyfriend, trying to get some touchy-feely action. But then the Beasties came on for the encore, and he jumped out of his chair, and was like, "Not now, I want to see this!"

NYC was GREAT time. I got a setlist too which I was happy about, and front row, against the gate the entire show. And on top of the greatness of the beasties, DOUG E FRESH.

yeah, I had a ball. I ended up getting sick when I got back; came down hardcore with a bad cough. Still have it, but oooh yeah it was worth it.

Crys, glad you enjoyed your trip to NYC. I kept an eye out for you and Pauli, but never saw ya. It coulf be because you were down on the floor, and I was up in sect 226. But it's all good, b/c the interglactic encore was right behind me. I was in the last row of the 200's and they performend inbetween the 200's and 300's. Mike D was literally leaning over my wife's seat while singin the 1st vers of Intergalatic. there was a girl 1 section over from me that started crying when she saw them. Just like those little chinese girls do at the Michael Jackson concerts.

It was funny.

I'm a girl and I knew every word to every song they performed. I was rocking out in section 311...
