Just wanted to take a moment to thank the following people for allowing me the truly unforgettable experience of being an MSG cameraperson for the Beastie Boys Oct. 9, 2004 NYC concert.
Thank yous go out to:
Beastie Boys - first and foremost for their music (past, present and future), for their innovation to include fan perspective into a live concert DVD, for taking the time to involve their fans, for trusting a stranger with a loaned Hi-8 camera to return it, and most of all for an exciting, ground-shaking, crowd-dancing pageant that was absolutely incredible.
Nathanial Hornblower - for allowing me to actually participate in one of your directorial projects (even if my work ends up on the cutting room floor)...and an extra thank you for the photo-op outside MSG after the concert. I'm sure that you were tired and ready to be left alone - not approached by a fan wielding a disposable camera and no one to take the photo...but you politely shared your time with me nonetheless. Thank you for your kindness, and thank Dechen again for hers in taking the picture for me. :)
John Q and Michael H - for your kindness, professionalism, and great sense of humor while dealing with an excited, adrenaline-pumped fan, for making me feel welcome and comfortable, and for your encouragement before as well as after the concert. Your hard work and pre-planning made everything run smoothly and quickly when it easily could have gone the other way.
Anyone else within Beastie Boys' organization who was involved in making this opportunity possible - your work in the background did not go unnoticed or unappreciated...it made my work possible. Thank you for all that you do.
MSG Security in Section 104 - who questioned me while I was filming but left me alone after I showed you my wristband, thanks for ch-checking me out.
To the other 36 fans who joined me as a cameraperson - it was a pleasure meeting you, you're a genuinely nice group of people (no ego trips here). (y) I look forward to talking with you on the board and seeing you at future pageants.
Alisa
