if you are a so called "true fan" you have probably heard that the beasties are anti crowd surfing and anti mosh.
I did not know this before going to the Georgia show. Beware that here in the US, at least at the Georgia show, crowd surfing was not allowed and security was very tight. Fans were ratting out other fans to security if they jumped a little too high. The good news is you can probably bring small children and watch from the front row. This is the new softer more gentle bboys crowd.
the shows i saw looked pretty hectic in the crowd. at all california shows people were crowd surfing pretty much, and not to forget the guy who threw himself into the crowd at second night in san francisco.
crowd surfing is never supported by the band but it all comes down to how tight the security is at each gig.

I don't like crowd surfing, never have! I think it's really stupid thing to do!
I've had my glasses thrown off several times and once they were broken to shatters. Also a lot of people get hurt, especially the little ones (I mean in size, like me) and nobody likes being kicked on the head when enjoying a good gig!
Also that behaviour hasn't been without casualties, especially at festivals (one dead during Hole in Hultsfred, Sweden, nine dead during Pearl Jam in Roskilde, Denmark), so those who still do it, PLEASE STOP IT!

Whatever B-Boys think the crowd should be doing, and even if the fans are mostly terrific, it got pretty wild at times in GA at the shows I've seen. I think it would be extremely irresponsible to bring a child onto the floor.

it's ages I know that.
but lot of people couldnt resist..
I dont like to surf and push other people, but that's my opinion!
many think it's cool...
I hate them!!
cause...I cant breathe and I cant take nice pics.
lots of the pics I take during that kind of concerts suck!!
that's the reason because I like concerts:
in small clubs
not on saturday (too many kids from high school!!)

I don't really care if people do this. I just pull them to the front to see the show. When they appeared in Berlin this year no one was crowdsurfing. Don't get me wrong, but I think that at a Beastie concert the energy isn't to strong to make some stupid things happen.
Last year on the 1st March there was the 10-years-birthday party of Radio Fritz (radio in Berlin and presenting the Berlin-concert).
This is one of most popular radiostations for non-pop bands. They managed to book most of the Fritz-friendly bands (some German bands like Seed, Sportfreunde Stiller). And there was one gig of a berlin local band called the Beatsteaks (now popular).
They just appeared on the stage and started the song and if I had been pushed around and somehow kicked I would have been lucky. I mean, big parts of the crowd had to fall on the floor. You couldn't enjoy the gig and just grab your bag and save it. At this gig I lost my casemap with my watch in there.
Damn...

crowd surfing and moshing is retarded. True music lovers don't waste their time ignoring the show.
Perfect, go see the bboys. They changed, I didn't know it and wanted to make sure the European fans know that going in.

I don't want to punch people in the face, and jump on their heads. I want to take pictures, but I doubt I will get my camera in.
Since when did punching people in the face become the norm for even a hardcore pit or crowd surf? I never saw anyone get punched in the face in the hundreds of pits I have been in unless they did something really dumb (like punch someone in the face). You can get punched in the face for driving like an idot as well. Also, don't confuse crowd surfing (a cool way to get up front) with a hardcore pit. But even in the case of pit you should not have people getting punched in the face.
I saw tons of cameras at the Georgia show (mainly cell phone cameras) so don't sweat that.

Hi girls, we know you hate it but the front rows of a general admission floor should be something you should either work at or get the hell in a reserved seat.
My guess is the bboys get more money for a GA floor since so many of their shows in the US are GA floors. They should put their money where their mouth is and stop GA on the floors if they want a safer show. They probably fit more people in a smaller space by GA instead of chairs. Security could then control things a lot better with reserved seating/chairs.

Not any more. See my review of the Georgia show. Very safe to bring a child.

Yes, now that is the case but not in the past (things change).
When the bboys used to play punk with their hiphop at shows you would have a lot of energy. Or, when guys like Henry Rollins opened for the bboys you knew what you would get up front.
I am just trying to let the European fans know what to expect.
