Defenitley. When i got into both bands they were the first i bought by each.

The debut Gorillaz album was too, and Melody A.M by Royksopp, if that was their debut album.
The GLC debut wasn't as good as i thought it was going to be. Some of the songs weren't that good.
Kasabian have thrown out a fantastic debut, too. I'll defenitley be bying their next

Black Sheep - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

That's a huge one. And I'm sure nobody will agree with me, but I think that that album was better than any other Native Tongues (ATCQ, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers) debut. Well, maybe tied with 3 Feet High & Rising.

RUBen1off
10-19-2004, 10:56 AM
Its strange because I like Tribe's and De La's debuts better, but I know A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing better than the others. If that makes any sense.
The beats are just insane on that album, but the lyrics tend to lack in some songs. But its still one of my favorite albums of all time. Aaaahhh the mammaries of 1991, good times, good times.

Dres was, in my opinion, a lot sharper than Dove and Pos, and not to mention, Phife. And neither of those dudes from the J.B.s were touching him, either. He was probably just as clever as Q-Tip, too. He's always been totally underrated. I think a lot of his more brilliant lines went over people's heads. His solo was junk, though.

Kollaps, EinstĂĽrzende Neubauten.

This was something different. Jackhammers for an opening of a song...amazing.

Unknown Pleasures, Joy Division

Plastic Ono Band, John Lennon

Surprising stuff which was much different from the Beatles work (most of it anyway).

In the Flat Field, Bauhaus

Elyria (sp?), Faith and the Muse

Garlands, Cocteau Twins

Telemetry of a Fallen Angel, CrĂĽxshadows

A pity the later albums would not be as good.

Wings of Joy, Cranes

Or if you consider Self-Non-Self their first album...Regardless, they're both good.

Germfree Adolescents, X-Ray Spex

Homesar is norcen. Interesting.

I thought Norcen found god and abandoned music altogether.

Besides, Homesar forgot to mention The Cure...

Filth, The SWANS

I do not advise anyone to get into their music. However, impressive debut.
