BOSTON -- A college student died Thursday after suffering a head injury in a clash between police officers and a crowd of Boston Red Sox fans who poured into the streets outside Fenway Park to celebrate their team's victory over the Yankees.

Victoria Snelgrove, a 21-year-old journalism major at Emerson College, was among 16 people hurt in the revelry. The injured also included a police officer.

Most of the injuries were minor, but Snelgrove suffered a severe head wound as police tried to subdue the crowd, authorities said. Mayor Tom Menino told WBZ-AM that she was struck by a "non-lethal weapon," but he did not elaborate.

I gotta say I'm gonna look out for my own well-being and root against the Red Sox. Here's my reasoning: has anyone seen the movie Dogma? The whole idea of the infallibility of God is where I'm going with this. If the characters in that movie prove God wrong, the universe ends. It's just like that with the Red Sox. It is a universal constant that the Red Sox must lose. If they win, the universe will end without question. I'm not looking to be banished for all of eternity, so they had better lose. :D

Anyway, they still have to deal with one more series. They couldn't possibly choke worse than the Yankees just did, but remember they ARE the Red Sox. :D
