Your pot roast sounds good, but mine is really the best. And you can use either a crock pot, or in the oven using roasting cookware. I use pampered chef baking stones in the oven.

Roast
Bag of red potatoes
Bag of baby carrots
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can of mushrooms (I buy the 4oz can of Green Giant pieces and stems)
1 packet lipton beefy onion soup mix

Red potatoes go on the bottom (I can usually fit about 12), then the entire bag of baby carrots, then the roast on top.

Dump a whole can of cream of mushroom soup on top of the roast, and make sure the entire roast is covered with the soup (I also put some over the carrots under the roast, since one can is kind of a lot).

Drain the mushrooms and evenly distribute them on top of the roast and carrots.

Sprinkle the packet of lipton's beefy onion soup mix evenly over the roast and wherever else you can see cream of mushroom soup.

DO NOT ADD WATER. IT MAKES ITS OWN GRAVY.

Cook in a crock pot on high for 6.5 - 7 hours, or in the oven using some sort of roasting cookware at 325 for 3.5 hours.
