We can always dream...but we're too fucked right now. This sort of progession will have to take time. It's going to take baby steps for a 3rd party to be taken seriously in a presidential election. You should be pushing 3rd party agendas into the mainstream. You can't blow your entire load in one go.

You did. But baby steps isn't enough. Clinton was making baby-steps, and Jeb managed to hop-skip and jump the US back 30 years worth. Baby steps isn't going to get anywhere, as the mainstream (Republocrats) are gonna go one step forward then three step back every time.

So you get Kerry elected, so he does a decent job of fixing Jeb's mistakes. What then? You've only got back to where you started before Jeb got into office, and had to win a second election to safeguard *not making any progress whatsoever* - and that is assuming he CAN fix all of Bush's mistakes and none (like the patriot act, which I don't see getting revoked any time soon) slip through the net. You going to be lucky and manage to *just* get a decent president elected in face of popular stupidity again and again? What if next time it isn't such a disproportionate match-up? Even considering the difference, it's debatable whether Kerry'll get it let alone if they to contenders were of equal competence.
