Man, I just got back from the show and I can assure you it was amazing. They showed full energy and strength during the entire performance and truely showed austin a good time. Mix Master Mike, You are a god! Talib Kwalie was bad as fuck, however I missed the first part of his set. I tried to record the show on my mp3 player. So far the quality of the recording is pretty weak. But I will try and clean it up then post the set list and a link for download.


This was my favorite show since Snoop Dawg this year. I have attended almost every hip hop show that has rolled threw Austin.

Don't miss it in your town.

I just got to the hotel from that show!!! OMG!!!! That was sooooo freakin' awesome. That was my first B-Boys concert, I'm still in high school and I came 600 miles to see them, missed school and all heh heh. I've never spent so much money on a concert, but damn it was worth it. Talib also did well. I LOVE the Beastie Boys and now that I have at last seen them live I am a very happy person. The world could end tomorrow and I wouldn't care. I know some of you all here have seen them multiple times, you all are lucky I hope you haven't taken any of those times for granted. The Beasties rock my socks live. I've never screamed so hard in my life. I have no voice or hearing at the moment. Okay so anyway here's a more detailed review...

The sets/lighting:

I applaud the running crew lights and sets for that show. There were a variety of different lighting styles with each set piece. My favorite set piece and lighting style was when them came out with their instruments and suits. The lighting for that reminded me of a backyard performance. It was definitely a relaxing moment too after all that jumping and screaming.

Video footage:

I also applaud all the people responsible for the video footage. Was that Will Ferrel as Dubya?

THE CROWD:

Where I'm from the crowds are usually crazy the first few songs then they always end up sitting down. Not this crowd, at least not around me. It seemed like everyone was standing throughout the duration of the Beastie Boys' set. Everyone around me knew every lyric of every song. It felt good to see other B-Boy fans. Very refreshing indeed. The crowd was great, mad energy.

The Merch:

Nice merch and the prices weren't bad at all, at least I thought so.

Man this show rocked!!! I thought I had horiable seats on the balcony...well... I was worng.... during intergalic...I was hanging over the rail right there within arms reach!! man it was awsome!!! The crowed was not too bad... I expected much more... the dog act was nice, the rapper on for the open was too loud and could not understand him at all... Overall, the show was worth EVERY penny and then some!!


PS: Pootytang... nice camera work :) I was the dude u met around 1 1/2 hour - 2 hours before the show... the skiny dude w/ the blue shirt.. next to the big dude... around the north gates....

I thought me and mixman had good seats,... it was even better when all 3 MC's came to section 80 where we were and went threw the whole intergalactic song. I was 3-4 feet away and mixman was 1. the minute the boys came on stage, everyone around Me jumped out of their seats, and We were standing the whole time. I almost died and went to heaven when they did 3 mc's and 1 dj, and then again when they played gratitude....Oh, MCA, I love ya.

I've been to every B-Boys show that's ever been in Texas mostly having to travel to Dallas, Houston, San Antone, but they were back in my hometown for the first time since CYH. Of course, I had to show some PAGEANTRY since I was representin'. I went decked out in a vintage polyester green pimp suit with red wrist bands and a red headband complete with cop shades, and a big money gold medallion. I hurried to the front of the stage during Talib Kweli, which by the way was awesome. I read somewhere that he was performing mostly new stuff, but I recognized a lot of old stuff, especially "Get By". That was awesome!! Then the crowd got crunk and the Beasties came out and it was like the whole world exploded. After a bunch of high energy songs, they brought it down with some chilled out grooves while wearing the tuxedos (which gave us a chance to catch our breaths) and then back to the hip-hop explosion! Towards the end of the show they gave a special shout-out to all the people who made the effort to dress up. Ad-Rock pointed right at me (as I was about 4 feet in front of him) and he said "Yeah, I'm talkin about you!" All in all, it was a totally awesome experience, except for the crazy drunk chick clawing me in the face right at the end of Sabotage.

Having been to every tour, how would this compare? I'll tell you, it was the best. Mixmaster Mike makes them a much better live act, and although they had MMM on the last tour, this one had PAGEANTRY!!!!!!

That was AWESOME! Was worth the trip from Canada believe me! That was on my life's to-do list...to see a B Boys concert and I was not dissappointed. Thanks to the Boys and MMM for a unreal show!

We saw Ad Rock shooting hips before the show which was excellent...+ MMM getting dropped off at the service entrance with his turn table by the looks of it.

I have some spare time here in Houston before I go back home tomorrow...so I can write my thoughts.

First, hats off to Austin event staff...seemed friendly and helpful. The gentleman in Section 33 was a very nice fella...had a great conservation with him. He was impressed I came from Canada to see this haha

The stage was simple and no obstacles. Perfect. The show was excellent! Absolutely no complaints. They played songs I had hoped they would. Going to the upper seats in the encore was very cool. Fans appreciate that sort of thing thats for sure. MCA getting down with the crowd was also cool to see. I was hoping to see live instruments and I wasn't dissappointed. Thanks guys!

Fabulous show!! I've seen the boys numerous times and I would have to definitely put that one up there as one of my favorites.

Words don't do justice to what I actually felt about the show. It was more than awesome, more than great, more than fabulous! And I agree how could ANYONE sit down during that show? B-Boys never been to my hometown quite frankly I probably wouldn't recommend them coming here either, not deserving of such talent. Not to diss my homies but what can say? That was the best concert I had ever been to in my life!

boys came to my section to perform intergalactic!! Right behind my seat
and we thought we had less than great seats since we weren't on the floor.

I too was exactly front and center of the stage on the rail, (next to my new hero, PootyTang, lol, he's the man!), and Yauch shook my hand too!!! (a full handshake, not a hand slap, it was so cool!!!!!) (his hand was soft :) ) He was chewing gum, too. He looked right at me when he shook my hand. I think i screamed afterwards, how stupid, lol, i should have just said, Hi or something, i was literely in shock/disbelief tho, i had no idea he was gonna come down to the crowd. He was so nice, and cute too. They all are.

Best day of my life. The concert was so great, it was beyond belief. Adam H. pointed at me when they were talking abput the people who dressed up for the show, and then he pointed to me again when they were thanking the people who drove from far away to be there (which means he must have watched the tape from before the concert when the guy was going around the line talking and taping people!!!!) I talked for a long time to that camera guy too, so i hope they watched it all. I told him that i just wanted them to look at me and i'd be happy, then the guy asked me where i'd be sitting, and i told him i'll be standing in front and center, on the rail. When Adam H. came out he ran right up in front of me, and he pointed at me and shook his head "yes", and he said "ok", and he looked right into my eyes, smiling!!! Then i screamed, and burst into tears! lol. It was f*cking great!!!!! I'm so happy!!! Mike D, and Yauch looked at me too during the show, Yea!!!

Best show ever. So much fun!!!!!!!!!! They are so funny too! When they were playing their instruments, Adam H's Bow tie started coming off, and he said "My bow ties coming off", and he smiled. But it never came all the way off.

Oh, and another really cool part, was when Adam H. said something like, "Isnt cool that we are all here together right now, and if we ever meet up again, we can say 'Hey, remember the Austin show', and we both have the same memories of it. Isnt that cool, i think it's cool." (I cant remember exactly what he said word for word, but thats close.). Thats so true too, all of us that went, plus the Beasties, all have that memory, thats so cool.

I have to say that that was one of the best shows I have been to in a long time. I like a variety of music and so far my top five favorite shows have been:

1. Paul McCartney-Saw him in Dallas during the "Driving USA" tour.
2. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant-won the tickets off the radio-I was Caller 10.
3. Eric Clapton-Blues tour 1995
4. Kiss-Reunion 1996
5. NIN-Downward Spiral tour Halloween 1994

But now I would have to say that this show is tied with McCartney. They played almost everything I wanted to hear and more. This was my first show to see the B-Boys and they did not disappoint. MMM is a genius and the boys were in prime form. My wife and I made the trip from Houston and I have to say that Austin rocks. We talked about which songs we wanted to hear and it got me to screaming my head off when they kicked off with "Root Down" but the one that really thrilled me was "High Plains Drifter." It was a great trip, great show, the B-Boys put out so much energy on stage that it left me feeling numb, and I have to agree with them that it is time to revoke Bush's Presidential License.

That is exactly how I felt. It was the best show EVER, even before they were leaning on the rail directly in front of my seat!!! I will never complain about being in section 79 again!! I have been waiting for this show since I was in 4th grade!!! (I'm 28 now.) I would also like some pics if anyone has some. I had to travel from Oklahoma, because they never come here. It was definitely worth the plane ticket and show ticket(s), and the shirt prices were very reasonable. Thank you b-boys for the best show ever!!!!

No kidding on the sound quality of the torrent. I've been leaving mine open for as many people to dl as possible to get a taste of the show. Whoever recorded it did a GREAT job! Congrats! As for how to do the torrent thing, google "torrent"...a little confusing at first but it's really a simple concept. IT's like a P2P enabler between just two people who have a file the other wants, just using a little app/patch. This is what I use...(http://bittorrent.com/) Hope you figure it out, because it's definitely worth it! (PS - if you're into Ben Harper, his concerts are VERY often torrented, so you absolutely HAVE to figure it out!) Good luck :)

At the risk of sounding completely incompetant, how the hell do I download this concert. This concert was absolutly sic and I want to be able to listen to it over and over again, but I cant figure out how to download it. Please HELP ME!
