Apparently you need a group of well-meaning idiots and a Dodge Durango to get down a tree that three hurricanes didn't topple.

Step 1: use a ladder and then build your own extension.

Step 2: have a crazy dude up in the tree cutting branches.

Step 3: using a thick cable, run the cable around the tree and hook it up to the Durango and hope the tree actually falls. (it doesn't, but now it's straight!)

Step 4: make a bunch of cuts and hope that it falls this time. (nope, and now it's leaning again)

Step 5: cut the branches it's stuck on, and maybe it'll fall this time. (no, but it's closer!)

Step 6: have a dude by the tracks ready to cut because this time it's really falling.

Step 7: start cutting immediately so you don't derail a train.

That would be the Dodge Durango that the cable (which was strapped around the tree) was hooked to; the Durango was supposed to pull the tree down and keep it from smacking the well-meaning idiots.

Well I think that the staff did a good job with that wood.

I do well with wood myself. :)

You have poor excuses for lumberjacks down there in Florida.
That guy wasn't even wearing a flannel shirt. (n)

I missed the final step because it was dark out when they were cutting the fallen tree.

Step 8: shove all the logs in the bushes where the building owner can't see them, instead of hauling them to the street for pick-up.

Note to Bobby: I'm betting these logs will still be there when you make your next trip home to FL.
