that's sweet crystal. i scored a mint TROOP jacket awhile back. i'll post pics when / if i get the inclination.

hardly anyone remembers the TROOP era, but when they do, they mention it.

don't believe the hype! (http://www.snopes.com/business/alliance/troop.asp)

I wanted my cousin's TROOP jacket bad when I was a kid. Eventually, he asked me if I wanted it, but it wasn't as fly as it was when it was fresh and new. I almost bought the same pair of shoes that LL is wearing on the cover of Bigger And Deffer, once too. I could honestly shoot myself for not copping those. They woulda been worth something by now, too.

good times. your story is a lot like mine. i always seen the bigger kids rocking the TROOP gear w/ matching shoes etc. i couldn't afford to rock it back then.

when i spotted the jacket i was almost buying it as a joke, but really i wanted to rock what i couldn't rock before... everytime i wear it someone compliments me on it and we talk about the good old days.

not sure what yo style is these days, but if you had stumbled on a TROOP jacket today, would you snatch it up?

your comment on LL's shoes on the Bigger And Deffer album prompted me to google. i was thinking they were air force 1s and found these:

tacky? sure. can i rock em? uh huh.

Yah, I'd cop it. Not like a whole wardrobe, but something for sure. My style is all over the place, anyways. I was kinda worried when I started seeing TROOP ads again in magazines earlier this year, but it didn't seem to take off, thank God (unlike AF 1's).

Those LL kicks were TROOPs, as well, actually. He was kinda, I'm guessing, the first rapper with his own shoe (not Jigga). They weren't common either, which is an even bigger disappointment now, in retrospect. I was at a flea market in Seattle when I saw them. I was holding out for British Knights that summer, though.

By the way, I'd rock any of those customs you posted.

Also, I'd have died for this when I was a kid (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2335&item=3936699623&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

I need a new track jacket. My old one was the american outfitter one and it got torned after I tripped and fell while running down the football tracks for Hockey excercises.
Um...Why do you guys need track jackets for? Are u on any sport like cross country or Basketball?
Anyways I have to wear this for my family's party. :( Please Tell me it looks good 'cause I don't see anything good about it.http://www.llbean.com/products/mens/30300/images/M30300_Loden_Stripe.jpg

When I was about 14 I bought this fly ass track jacket from the thrift shop. I wore it on my walk home. I got home and my mom asked where I got it and I told her. She made me give it back because she said someone out there that could only afford the $7 i spent on it would probably need it more than me. I still give her shit about it once a year, 14 years later. which reminds me.....
