View Full Version : Husband from hell.

The trial of the year, meaning that of Scott Peterson, is coming to an end. The
defense rested their case, the prosecution rested their case, and now we're
about to hear the closing arguments (which start Monday,
11/1.)
In my opinion, it's about time this husband from hell faced the music.
Just look at the evidence against him:
http://www.courttv.com/trials/peterson/evidence3/behavior.html
He's admitted to cheating on his wife, showed no remorse at her burial, and is
just plain GUILTY. It's just plain DISGUSTING. Though I'm not a huge TV-addict,
I have been following this case as I see it as very important to wives
everywhere.
Does anyone here actually think he's innocent, or that his defense lawyer, the
"star studded" Mark Gregaros, actually won the case for his client? From what
I've heard (Court TV runs updates all day of the trial), the case is a pretty
close call. My friend also told me that their anchorwoman, Court TV's Nancy
Grace, is being given a dedicated 2- hour program (6pm-8pm) each night during
closing arguments to talk about that day's event, which works for me because
I'm not usually home during the day.
Let's hope for the best for Laci!

Wrong forum. Sorry, but no one really gives a rat's ass about the Peterson trial.

Certainly not me. She's in the ground, she won't burn his steak again in a hurry.

Yeah exactly. CNN and the rest of the corporate media are only covering this to death because Laci Peterson was hot.

That's pretty compelling. I mean, all that would suggest he didn't like his wife, and that he was glad to see the back of her.
HE MUST BE GUILTY! No-one but a guilty murdering SOB would be glad to see the back of the woman he was cheating on!

How bad is most of America's media in this regard? I already know that if I dare change the channel to Fox News, there's a one in five chance that there'll be a story about a missing attractive woman.

It's pretty bad. American news is pretty much the same as the tabloid news shows of the early 90's, ie: A Current Affair. Big graphics, special effects, general sensationalism, etc.

And 'witty' taglines / lead-ins, a la:
What do you call a woman with two black-eyes?
Nothing, you already told the bitch twice.

Or, the perfect/beautiful anchor will be like, "MURDERER ON THE LOOSE! AND COULD POSSIBLY BE IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD! But first, some trick or treat tips for your kids."

Hey, I'm with you all about our TV media being total sensationalistic crap. But to me, making callous jokes about a woman's brutal death is just as ugly.
p.s, ACE: Is the UK's top-selling paper still The Sun?

Hey, if you can't laugh about a total stranger's misfortunes, what can you laugh about? That is what the essence of comedy is, take the classics: the bannana peel on the pavement, or the custard pie to the face.
And I have no idea about the Sun. I just write totally inane crap in boring columns, I wouldn't pay for the privildge of reading it.

Media needs something to fall back on now that the election is almost over, only thing they have to look forward to besides more bad news from Iraq and Laci is what the hell went wrong with all the polls.

I'd be more sympathetic if she hadn't married someone with murderous tendancies.
"But mum, he's so edgey, and I always find the bad guys sexy!"
"I *like* the dangerous side in him!"
"Long engagement? But the baby's due in 7 months!"
Buh. If I got married, you can bet your sweet ass it would not be to someone likely to bump me off.
In the words of Haku - "Coulda, shoulda, woulda - it is all part of life's rich tapestry. You are fortunate, Samurai. Most people have to live with their mistakes. You get to die by yours."

Ever heard of the phrase "asshole magnet"?
I have two friends that ALWAYS date the wrong guys.

Sounds like a cocktail you'd get at a gaybar. And I know some girls who date "bad guys" - and it is not because they can't find any "decent" guys, or because they don't know the sort of guys they are (having been warned).
That sort isn't being an asshole magnet, that's being a trouble blood-hound.

Sorry to interject a substantive issue into this witty banter, but....
Scott Peterson is being tried for the murder of his unborn child. If sucessful it could assign rights to an unborn fetus thereby compromising the notion of abortion as a legal choice.
Anywho, ummm....sorry.

Yeah, who gives a shit about women's rights and the right to have complete control over their own bodies. God, the bible, Bush and Christian Evangelicals know better.
