I would have voted Libertarian, but I am very much opposed to abortion (and not based on religion, etc, just a personal experience).

no dumbass, if you want to know the truth,

our first child was born in 1996 with transposition of the great arteries. the arteries between the heart and lungs are reversed so that oxygenated blood does not get circulated. its a heart defect that is tough to catch. he had open heart surgery at 4 days and died at 6 days. pre surgery he was confined to a nicu and during those 4 days i witnessed tiny, tiny babies, fighting to stay alive. those 6 days, and in particular the 4 days in the nicu, changed my attitude towards a lot of things in life

so go fuck yourself

you can't complain if you don't vote.....

and the experience of losing a child has made me that much more of a better father, and it does change your perspective on a lot of things.

i pray you never have to go throught the experience of burying a child, no matter what age

of course, you have to have sex in order to produce a child and unfortunately for you baby oil and semen doesnt create a fetus.............

Wow, I feel so insulted.

:D

Already buried most of my family...I still don't worship the fetus like it was Jesus (isn't that idolatry?)

Shit, it's a persons choice. But I don't think opening the gates of abortion is the real issue. If all you fuckwad conservatives would just legalize over the counter morning after pills.....

You're a dick. Real classy to insult a man because he lost a child. That would deserve an Ohio punch to the face too.
Really classy to poke fun at Iraqis with dead children, by supporting the continuance of said suffering by voting for Bush.

What, did I miss the memo where having a family bereavment made you a moral expert on the sanctity of life?

How many family members do I have to have die on me before my opinion cancels his out? Or does it have to be a kid? If I didn't really want the kid in the first place, and it dies (due to congenital defects) - would that make me less justified when telling people how they can and can't act?

Ace42

That's a convoluted line of reasoning.

No, that is a (relatively) convaluted sentence. The reasoning is quite simple. Like you.

Saying "you were aborted?" is not in any way shape or form "laughing at someone for losing a child"

and saying "awww did I hurt your feelings" is mocking his reply to his post; not his loss (as he did not know about his loss in the first post, he can not have been intending to "hurt his feelings" by mocking the specifics and thus the sarcasm is apt)

Jeez, someone loses a kid and that means we all have to rewrite history to maintain the illusion of victimisation?

Or let me guess, if the allegation is serious enough, what is *actually* said is immaterial. Saying *anything* in any sort of proximity that isn't mindless inane cock-sucking or phony commiserating is "just cold, man"

I think getting worked up about something that doesn't effect you in the slightest, just to try and claim moral superiority is "low"

But then, fuck me, I'm just an emotional hippy tree-hugger.

Anybody else??So, tell me how W has helped the 3 kids? How much of a child tax credit did we get? Unless you're a millionaire?

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your child, but how is that related to abortion? I have a 2 year old, am a kick ass father, and still believe in a woman's right to choose. They're not mutually exclusive.

And still, I don't understand how this issue trumps Iraq, the Patriot Act, and the fucked up economy.

i voted for Peltier-peace and freedom

so sad for America...i guess the 18-24 year-olds that didn't vote (the statistic I heard on the radio was that 1 in 10 voted) will have a rude awakening when their asses get drafted (http://www.mndaily.com/articles/2004/10/29/10950) to a) Iraq b) Iran c) Afghanistan or d) North Korea...seems like republicans are against abortion because they need more soldiers for Halliburton and Unocal- let the bodies hit the floor indeed...

I voted Nader. As I am in NY, I knew the Elctorl vote would go to Kerry...cause my state swings that way. But i dwnated to get independent's percentage up so that they might have been able to have a fair shot at the next elections. 3% of the votes and they get campaign funding.

I failed :(

But I like Nader lots more than the other two duschebags in any case so it's all good. Wasnt wasted in my opinion, not if your voting for who you ACTUALLY wish could win.

According to my Government textbook it's 5%, not 3%.

Voting for a third party candidate is a wonderful idea, and it would be nice if more people informed themselves about the issues and voted for the candidate they thought was really the best, not just the best choice out of the two major political parties.

I don't think Ralph Nader should be president, though. He's a wonderful person, and it's a very good thing that we have people like him around, but I wouldn't want him to run an entire country.

Jesus Christ, this flu is making me hallucinate. I thought that said "non-Vader party" when I first looked. Oh well.

I voted Kerry. First of all I live in Oklahoma, and we had no third party candidate here. Not like I was gonna vote for Nader even if he was on the ballot. I knew Kerry was going to be raped unmercifully here. And that's not meant to be taken literally you smart-asses. :D I knew my vote wouldn't count, but no matter which way you vote, if you know your guy is gonna lose your state, there is a feeling of satisfaction when your vote cancels out someone elses.

My ass ain't getting drafted. I'm moving to England when it's reinstated. Hell, I'll move there even if it doesn't happen. Just need to get my inheritance check from my great-great aunt.
