The Boards Server having problems?

It only happens when things are really busy around here (such as with a concert coming up and people want ticket information).

For the most part it shouldn't be a problem.

No, it's happening a lot -- and at times without reason (i.e., no concert coming up or ticket release info). People are not exaggerating.

It's so bad this morning, in fact, I was beginning to wonder if the board had been hacked.

Ah yes, it happens for a reason. For whatever reason presale or not, a lot of people come here at any one time and that causes this issue.

For example, in the recent weeks, we've had 500+ new members joining up consistently each week. That's because Beastie Boys are touring. No surprises there. But it does place a large burden on the server. We clean up dead user accounts regularly, but there's only so much we can do there. Perhaps it's time to close new registrations again for a little while.

We're looking into it all.
