1.MMM was in top form, he was laying down some ill samples for the Beasties to rhyme over. I say not including the origianl music for each B-Boy song rapped live, MMM include 3-4 other samples in each song. My favorite was on "Pass the Mic", where he played a sample from Snoop Doggs "Drop it Like its Hot" while the Beasties rapped over it. MMMs scratching, beat-juggling and etc. was in top-form.

2.The was a noice selection of tracks form LTI and PB performed, along with "Skills to Pay the Bills". My fav throwback track played last night was "Paul Revere", they had the crowd rap the first part of the song. MMM even drop the "The Best in mens clothing" radio ad from Pauls Boutique.

3.The instrumental set was my favorite part of the show. As expected, Money Mark and Alfredo accompanied them. The all came out on this smaller stage with outdoor party lights. Powder-blue tuxes baby! Alfredo looked the part and Ad Rock definately acted the part of members of a band resembling a cheap-hire 1970's high school prom band. All 5 guys were squeezed together on this stage but it looke friggin' hilarious, but a good hilatious. The songs the played was Sambrosa, Rickys Theme, and Something Gotta Give".

4.The encore was as expected, Intergalactic, Gratitude and Sabo, with the Beasties going in the crowd to do Intergalactic. They truely are fan friendly. Gratitude and Sabotage was again performed on a smaller stage on the main stage.

5.Its clear as the Beastie roll on this tour, fans can expect to see new things night after night. But whats cool with it the Beasties will be seeing the same stuff for the 1st time also. There were random videos played and it was clear that the Beasties were seeing them for the 1st time also, and its cool to see them respond. And knowing MMM, it was also clear he was throwing different unrehearsed samples for the Beasties to rap over, making each show unique.

All in all, you people in for a heckofa show and expect anything and everything, from old-school Beastie songs mixed with todays hip-hop samples to the typical Beastie humor-infused rap session.

I had a great time last night. The setlist was outstanding...except I think the only PB song they did was Shake Your Rump.

They did open with Alright Hear This from IC. I think this might be the first time they've played it. As well as Pass the Mic with studio-version music...until MMM changed it up.

They also sported their brown sweatsuits in the beginning. I'm not sure if these were new or not. I don't recall seeing any pics from other shows with them.

The crowd was little on the light side. The entire upperdeck was empty...but the floor and lowerdeck were packed. The whole venue was GA.

There was a family of five (mom, dad and three kids with the youngest about 7 years old) there. And props to Earl, Beastie Security, who got them out of the pit area and into the side Pageant Pit.

I met up with Blue Nun and her husband, Elvis, as well as Miramanee. Blue Nun was definitely dressed to impress and the boys noticed. Blue Nun and I got on the roving camera thingy too.

I was a bit disappointed in the sound quality of the venue. I was on the rail and right in front of the wall of bass speakers. I'm not sure if it was my location...but the sound quality was not that great. But what I sacrificed in sound was made with being close and really feeling a part of the show.

Now....it's on to the Chicago show!!!

That seems like an odd track to open with. I was considering dressing like a banana for tonight, but I don't wanna freeze my balls off.
Where's the after party?

Did anyone notice Adrocks pants falling down? I dont think he knew- he was hysterical.
I loved Check it Out with the "FRESHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"- the banter with Mike D and Mix Master Mike was hilarious!! They all have such great chemistry together.
By the way, they all look MUCH better in person. Maybe I am getting old, but I dont think they look their age at all.
