Feel a draft?
There is ample reason to be concerned about the possibility of a draft. Whether or not this request to match the lists is further evidence isn’t clear. What is clear is that the Army and Marines are stretched extremely thin and are beginning to have trouble with recruitment and retention. The numbers just don’t add up. The Defense Science Board, appointed by Secretary Rumsfeld, recently concluded that the military does not have enough capacity to sustain its current commitments, nevermind handle future contingencies. I hope they reinstate the draft as soon as possible. I want to see the sons and daughters of the red state voters go off to slaughter in Bush’s folly. Nothing would please me more than to see the teary, inconsolable eyes of a rabid Bush supporter as they bury a son or daughter soldier of Commander-in-Chief Bush.
And, let’s not forget the incredible apathy of students in this election. Send them off - kill them. At least they’re not in the job market raising unemployment numbers anymore. The more dead Americans, the less we have to provide healthcare and Social Security to. I hope they pick all the blond-haired, blue-eyed ones first. I read the news anxiously each day, hoping the American dead numbers soar.

BUSH IS AGAINST ABORTION, PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION AND ANY FORM OF FETAL EXTRACTION… MAYBE ITS BECAUSE HE DOESN’T WANT THEM DEAD UNTIL THEY ARE 17, 18, 19, 20 21, 22, 23, 24………….HE IS ABORTING OUR CHILDREN EVERYDAY IN THIS INSANE WAR. HE IS MURDERING TENS OF THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT IRAQI BABIES EVERY DAY. THESE CHRISTIAN, MORAL, COMPASSIONATE REPUBLICANS.
I propose that if the draft is reinstated, only those who voted for Bush will be eligible to be drafted. That way Bush and his supporters can fight their oil wars themselves and leave the rest of us out of it. They wanted this war, so they can strap on an AK and some body armor and go fight it while the civilized segment of the population goes on with our lives as usual.
And that last reader post really sums it up doesn't it?^ I didn't vote for Bush, don't agree with him or his war, and I live in a country who claims to be spreading freedom when we are not even free here at home. All you mush heads who agree with Mr. W and his policies should be the ones to go fight a pre-emptive invasion and conduct your little crusade without us "Blues".
After all you hate us so much. You call us hippies and cowards and such. It would be ok though if we had to go fight though right? Have your war and ignorance. What good would we do you anyway? We are too stoned to operate a weapon or even get riled up enough to off an Arab.
