Your prayers are answered people. I have a short DVD of this show. It includes snippets or all of these joints:
Root Down
Egg Man
Hello Brooklyn
Shake Your Rump
Sabrosa
Lighten Up
Something's Got To Give
Paul Revere (complete)
3 MC's One DJ
Brass Monkey
Whatcha Want (complete)
Intergalactic (complete)
Sabotage (complete)
The total runtime is just under 30 minutes. The quality is decent, but you won't mistake it for the Criterion DVD. The sound here is arguably better than it was at the show.
Anyway, I'm a week away from my law school exams, so I can't share this now. In 3 weeks when those are done, I'd be happy to get this out there. Fear not Beastie Management, etc., I'm not looking to sell this, just share it with other band geeks like myself.
If you're interested in a copy, post on this page...and be patient.

Wow thats awesome, where were you recording it from?
They were strict as hell at the UC, I've couldn't even take photos of the show and it isn't like I'm going to sell them for money, just to remember my first Beastie Boys concert. A video is even better, I'll be looking foward to this (y)

I'm glad to see that there is so much interest. I think the best way to do this is to have people send me blank DVDs and postage for me to send them back. Again, it'll be a few weeks before I can do anything.
The video is shot from the first few rows of the upper deck at the UC, on the far side away from the stage. My camera has a pretty good zoom, so it looks closer than we actually were. It wasn't easy to get the camera into the UC, but once we were in, nobody bothered me.

I'm geniunely curious and intend no disrespect to anyone who posted here. If Hornblower or someone else can point me to an answer, I would appreciate it.
Hornblower, it appears that you believe that what you are doing is okay so long as you accept no money. There are loads of urban myths out there, but I haven't seen anything showing this to be true. The little bit of general research I have done indicates that you could be subject to civil or criminal liability. I imagine that the Beasties might not care that big fans are trading their music, but from what I can tell, their opinion does not decide the issue.
Hornblower, I would not be writing this except that you mentioned that you are a law student. I assume you are a first year, and that is why I decided to post and give you unsolicited, and probably unwelcome advice. You may feel that it is unlikely you will get in trouble, but if you did, you are putting a lot on the line. You should also be aware that you speaking in a very public forum. A little paranoia might be healthy.
BTW -- If anyone has any basis to believe that taping a live concert without permission and distributing the tapes without payment is legal in the US, I would really appreciate hearing about it. I'd love to be proven wrong. :)

He asked for blank DVDs and postage.... He's actually losing time and effort
on this venture, because he's a fan, and we are... So, in a nutshell, nobody
asked for your legal advice, he's not looking to profit, thanks, but no thanks
Documad

I wasn't giving legal advice. I was giving professional advice to someone who seems to have very poor judgment. If he's still around, he should know what I'm talking about.
It's clear from the subsequent posts that he didn't follow my professional advice, so it doesn't really matter.
And honestly, if anyone has anything other than urban legend on this subject, I'd love to hear about it.

I have 'Awesome I Fuckin' Shot That', but I was there and featured on the video they played during the concert and that's like one of my favorite memories ever and I have been searching for a copy of it.
