Emily Sue passed away and Bubba called 911.

The 911 operator told Bubba that she would send someone out right away. "Where do you live?" asked the operator.

Bubba replied, "At the end of Eucalyptus Drive."

The operator asked, "Can you spell that for me?"

There was a long pause and finally Bubba said, "How 'bout if I drag her over to Oak Street, and you pick her up there?"

I think this story does a good job of illustrating the ineptitude of those who operate the bureacracy. Come on, the operator can't spell Eucalyptus herself?

NOPE!

Without getting into boring detail...for my job, I deal with quite a few rural police departments over the phone. Those fuckers are straight up retarded! Every piece of information I give them has to be spelled out, one word at a time because they can't process the information. Twice I've had to spell "CALL" for them. Actually...I've had to spell out words I've known since 1st grade quite a few times for those guys.

I always want to praise them for not being retarded when I do speak with a compitent dispatcher....but I hold back.

Your lives are in the hands of these idiots.
