View Full Version : MTV trying to blame youth for fucking up country.

ASsman

MTV, is now running in its "MTV News" tidbits, obviously half assed statistics. Using exit polling to suggest 64% of voters in swing states were bellow the age of 30. And that there has been an increase in young voters, about 22 million this year.
They are obviously trying to blame the youth with fucking us over with Bush again.

But I blame MTVs "Choose or Loose" bullshit. Also P Diddy.

Thank you MTV, you really fucked up this time. Stay out of politics, but first stay out of Music. Assholes, you already fucked up Music for everyone, now you've fucked up the entire world.

I guess because ASsman likes Kerry, he's blaming whoever he can.

That was just a rant. But really, the last thing we needed was teeny boppers voting ignorantly. An as for their civil duty, I think if your civil duty is to vote between two giant douches, then you are infact fucking up the country. And perpetuating the cycle that is this hypocritical and corrupt nation.
This wasn't my original argument, but now it is I suppose. My original argument was that if you can say the heartland is to blame for Bush winning office once more, and Bush turns around and fucks up the world. Then if MTV says that many of these people were young MTV watching idiots, then are they not to blame for Bush being in the presidency?

I guess because ASsman likes Kerry, he's blaming whoever he can.
And I guess because you like Bush you assume that. And make yourself look like an even bigger moron in the process.

Supporting Bush is moronic. Two people supporting Bush is twice as moronic as one. Do not think that because there are more like-minded individuals, it makes it any less moronic. Quite the opposite true. You are not dividing up the moronicism of voting Bush between you all, but multiplying it by each of you.

somethings been bugging me for a while. if all these celebrities try so hard to rock the vote against bush- if they had succeeded, then whats the difference between this and bush stealing the 2000 election like a lot of you people accuse him of doing?

personally i dont care whether bush stole or not. and im not saying he didnt.

but surely for democracy to work then you have to win fairly by the rules, even if others cheat?

Ace42

Buh, since when has people in the public eye telling people what they believe been cheating? Why is it Kerry can say "vote for me!" but REM can't say "vote for him!"

Do you have to be a politician to have your say?

Seriously, stuffing ballots and preventing people from voting is very different to telling people the score.

Maybe the problem with Vote or Die! is that MTV's average viewer is probably only 14, and thus ineligible. But I do agree. Fuck you Diddy, and fuck MTV!

The world is better with Bush instead of Kerry. History will prove that like it did about Reagan!

Oh please. Reagan?! He wasn't that great, but he doesn't deseve to be compared to Bush. Dubya makes Nixon look saintly.

Meh, because it's the truth.

As far as truth goes, people wouldn't know it if it slapped them in the face.

Maybe if teens didn't see their favorite rap stars or idols going around shooting people while drinkin a 40oz and hitting a J, they wouldn't think that it was cool and ok for them to do it.

Unfortunatly, who will the youth have as role models? Politicians? Fake Rappers? (and by this i mean how hard life is living in a million dollar home driving their "pimped out" SUV)

ASsman
11-10-2004, 01:31 PM
Yah, I don't support what all "rappers" do. But some have come out and explained themselves, and what they are trying to attempt with their lyrics and videos. Some I respect, others I wish had never written a single song.
But then again Pop-Culture is for sheep, so line up and follow.

The same could be said about voting for Kerry. In fact, voting for anyone without the ability to make a sound and intelligent decision is moronic. If what you say is true, then it would seem that Kerry would have been able to sway more ignorant people to his way of thinking.

Why must everyone go there. Assuming that we support him 100%. He didn't get us into war, congress has yet to declare war (as far as I know). Hes no the one lying to us (as much). And how is is that Kerry would have been able to sway more ignorant voters?.... When Bush is the president and seems like alot of us have been buying into his lies thusfar. 50% of new Hispanic voters voted for Bush... Explain that, and don't go on ahead and tell me that Hispanic voters are not for the most part ignorant. Ill look for the statistic of High School and College Hispanics.

Obviously, you have misinterpreted(sp) my post. Ace42 posted that to vote for Bush a person would have to be a moron. I merely stated that, the same could be said about Kerry. A typical moron could would be persuaded easier than someone who is intelligent or knowledgable about a situation or topic. So, to be moronic, Kerry should not have had a problem getting more people to vote for him and in result become President.

Yes, very good point.

Oh wait, it isn't, because it is totally irrational. Stupid people tend to be *stubborn* and *close-minded* and thus not likely to be swayed from their avowed course.

Intelligent people are *adaptable* and *open-minded* and thus more likely to be open to alternative courses of action.

^^^ Read the writing on the wall. Bush has a few comptent supporters in a sea of morons. Kerry has a few morons in a sea of competent ones.

There are more Bush supporters (supposedly) and thus... Tada, more morons.
