I think we're gearing up a little more sabotage-esque, shirt, tie, jacket, aviators, staches etc... If you're worried about the cold, you should dress up as sasquach. That would kick ass.

hahaha, point well noted. I'm 6'4 and I sweat when I breath so a furry costume is out of the question for me too. See ya at the show. I'm very pumped.

:p Sounds like the old married folks will be represented at this one! We booked our sitter early (we have four kids).

I'm trying to convince my husband to dress to impress, but to him that just means not wearing his ball cap.

How old is your daughter, Venus? Our oldest is 8 and she loves the BBs. I didn't even think to bring her and we do have an extra ticket! (lb)

We saw Metallica in October and two teenage boys were in front of us. Their Mom, very prim and proper (probably one of our neighbours) proceeded to get right into the concert. That was freaking cool!

I plan on dressing but I got floor tickets so any fresh attire I wear will promptly be lost as soon as the crowd gets going.

can't work...too excited...where are people going after the show?

also, I've never been to an event at the corel center. You guys figure they'll have a coat check or something? It's bloody cold outside but I'm sure it will be mad hot on the floor...

hornblower
11-09-2004, 02:43 PM
ive never really been a show in the winter .. but i doubt that there would be a coat check and that sucks cause its always about 10 degrees colder there then it is in the rest of the city.. they need to plant some trees there or something.. and this is a notice for all the out of towners cause there seems to be alot of you parking costs 10 bucks

Michael K
11-09-2004, 02:49 PM
It'll be real hot on the floor, that's a guarantee! Not sure how I'm going to work this...stay warm outside...looking like a million...but stay cool on the floor...hmmmmm....

Also, I think you can park way down the street for free. But it'll be about a 10-15 minute walk. And if it's real cold...well, the $10 might be worth it.

What time are you guys getting there at?? I'm thinking 3-4:00. Make sure I'm at the front...boss already OK'd my leaving work a bit ealy :)

Hell yeah!!! You're only as day away...(sung to Annie theme)

We're actually considering bussing it so we can have a few drinks and smoke some herbs and not have to worry about driving/parking. Bus#403 leaves albert and bank at 6:30 arriving at 7pm then will leave 15 mins after the show is over...

I'm going to try to get at the Corel Centre probably around 2-3 o'clock. I'm skipping third and fourth periods, and might just walk there straight from school with some friends... which is only like a forty minute walk.

Hey Beastiemom !

My daugther is 9... she'll be 10 soon.
She's a fan since the day she was born !!!

We're coming from Montreal... the bboys were here sunday...
So she have no idea we're going to the concert, and think we've missed it :D

Everybody :

 Is anyone know if there's an inside parking at the Corel Center ???
Can we bring a camera ???

Only 24 hours to go !!!

:D YEAH !!! :D

P-G
11-09-2004, 07:17 PM
there is no underground parking at the corel center, just big outdoor lots, and it'll cost about $10, unless you work there and have a parking pass and can park in the employee lot for free like me!
I'm not sure about the camera thing though, but I'd imagine that it'd be pretty easy to sneak one in.
some of the side entrances to the 100 level have coat checks and they might be open tomorrow.
parking DOWN the road will result in a rather long and cold walk after the show.
I can't fucking wait, I'll be up near the front and dressed to impress(well, more so than my normal every day attire)

Nope. No inside parking at the CC and it's like a wind tunnel, so it's worth the $10 to park as close as you can. We're coming from the other direction (Stittsville) so we don't have as much traffic to deal with.

When they check your bags and purses, it's just visual, so if you're camera is small enough, it should be easy to get it in. If they see you use it though, they might take it away?

We still have three tickets, so it looks like we might take our 6 and 8 year old daugthers too. We weren't planning on partying much anyhow and we can always bring them back home to the sitter (my Mom) if something comes up.

Damn, 24 hours to go!!! Wheeeeee!!!!!!

Thinking going with the nutty professor look MCA is sporting in the Intergalactic vid...be warm and I don't mind losing the wig and coat at the show when it gets too hot.

BTW - my son loves that video and the BBoys but he's only 5 and I thought that's a bit young to be bringing to the show. But that's me...I'll be real impressd if I see some young uns at the show.

Anyone heard anything about MMM doing a show after at a club or anything?? Also, I'll be checking into every vegetarian restaurant I pass tomorrow. Ottawa ain't that big a city and them Boys gots to eat...

My husband agrees with you Micheal K, so at home they stay! It's a school night too, so it wasn't a hot idea to begin with.

If anyone is interested in three tickets, Level 116, lemme know!

Hey what's up everyone... first post here.. the Montreal show the other night was absolutely ridiculous, those guys really know how to play to their fans. and even after seeing them in nyc a month ago i'm now looking to go to ottawa tomorrow night to see 'em one last time before they're off to europe and all that.

so, as a pleading beastie boys fan, i'm looking for anyone that's driving tomorrow from montreal to ottawa for the show (and back home) that have 2 spots in their ride for some cross-country fans. cash is being offered, if you wanna split the cost of gas for the trip this could work out well for all!!

thanks and to all that haven't seen em live yet YOU WILL LOVE IT.. peace

Anyone here watch Desperate Housewives? May as well add "in Stittsville" after that. There's some freaky stuff here. :D I love telling all of our neighbours how old we are and see their faces bug. I wish it were summer so I could be sure that they were out walking dogs and kids to see me in my fancy dress. I usually blend right in, but tonight I will stand right out!

Venus, from where you are, just go out of the hotel to the right on Katimavik Road and follow all the way up through the lights to the Corel Centre. You can't miss it. You're right there!

Just hours to go! For a few hours tonight, I get to go back to being a kid. Alas, for right now, I have to be Mom. My 3 year old cut her own hair and we're headed to get it fixed.

yeah stittsville is very quickly becoming as uptight as kanata.. i lived there from like 1990 to just a couple of years ago and i admit the town looks nicer then it used to but the people have turned into dicks

Michael K
11-10-2004, 09:40 AM
Stittsville is probably no different than Orleans...mini-van heaven...perfectly manicured lawns...

Anyways, Beastie Boys tonight!! I'm so impressed that they are coming to Ottawa! Little ol' Ottawa...we're a small town but, damn, I hope we get stoopid tonight!!

I dressed up as one of the Intergalactic guys for Halloween but I'm not sure if I want to wear it to the show cause the costume is very hot and elaborate...it might be impractical for general admission front row centre if you catch my drift.

I am trying to think of something a little more scaled down for tonight.

What time is everyone getting there? Does anyone know the best way/time to meet them?

I was at the Montreal show and MCA waved at my girlfriend. Now she is starstruck and in love with him...so now I must fight him. ;) (kidding don't ban me)

God, it's 5:25 and I haven't even started getting dressed. It says 7:30pm so I'm not in a rush....

I'm just wearing jeans and a top....I don't own anything sabotage-ish and this pissy weather won't allow much else...

BTW, yes, another married couple heading to the show tonight  ... what's with us 'old' folks? :p

Smarsaw, we're not in a rush either. Just hanging out drinking some beer and waiting for the sitter. I decided to just wear jeans too, but with some kick ass boots and a great vintage jacket.

Yay for married people! (Especially those who know the "joy" of kids, lol)
