I'll write more tomorrow when I get the chance.

That was an AWESOME Show!!!!
I have to big up the security at the ACC. First, while my boyfriend was puffing on a spliff, security came up and only asked him to wait until the lights went out, only in Canada!!!
Then, they caught a guy who snuck into the floors. Good job, especially for those of us who got up extra early to ensure we got floors!!
Sorry, but I have to mention the only bad part of the night was turning around and seeing this chick with her arms crossed and this mean look on her face. She was probably pissed cause my boyfriend and I were taller than her which made it harder for her to see. Too bad, should have gotten there earlier, not like it's our fault we were taller. And besides, the people standing in front of me weren't moving out of the way for me to see better. Not to mention, there was plenty of room, she could've moved. It upsets me to see angry people at a beastie boys concert!
Anyways, thanks to the boys for visiting and rocking the party!!!!

i think jehall has it right...anyhow, as has been mentioned before, intergalactic was amazing as the boys ran to a different part of the staduim before returning to the 'main' stage for gratitude and intergalactic. Rock on T-dot
forgot to mention...the stop-camera matrix style live camera work was amazing. hope they pulled this off at the other shows and the ones to come...

First off, I had no idea how good my floor seats were before I went. I stopped to have dinner and figured that by the time I would get there all the good standing room would be gone. But, no, I found myself right at the right of the stage (the Beasties' left), so close that at one point Mr. Horovitz flicked sweat at me. So, yeah, I was the girl over there with the long brown hair and the pink Jem and the Holograms t-shirt. Howdy. (No, I didn't dress to impress, sorry- I barely managed to catch the Greyhound, let alone plan an outfit.)
Anyways, Talib Kweli started things off. His set was pretty much the one he did at the Madison Square Garden show (I went to that one as well), except people weren't quite as responsive, I don't think. I found it funny that when he asked when people were born at MSG, there was this roar for the 70's, but at ACC it was all 80's children. Anyways, good job, Talib.
MMM's intro was this extended shot of him being rolled down the hallway by what looked like Mr. Diamond and these two other guys. He started things off with some crazy cuts before the Beasties came bounding out in pale blue track suits with "Beastie" on the back (as far as I could make out). Let me tell you, those were some nice suits. I can't remember the first song, but those were some nice suits.
Later on, they switched into some kind of noodles motif with t-shirts. MMM was Rice-a-Roni, Horovitz was Cup O'*something* (probably noodles), Mr. Diamond was *something* Soba and Mr. Yauch... I have no idea. Every time he came over to my side of the stage and I had an opportunity to read his shirt, I became distracted by his hair. The guy has a real thick head of hair, have you ever noticed?
Some moments stand out for me as pretty funny. At one point, Diamond stopped at my side of the stage and started getting us to chant, "Sex! More sex! I like it! I love it! I need it!" At that point, Horovitz came over and stopped him, which was unfortunate, since I was kinda wondering where else he was gonna go with that.
Also, the first time Yauch came over to say hello, Horovitz came over to join him, and... I could be crazy, but I think he was pointing out women and joking "about having fun tonight". Yauch just kinda pulled away and didn't react. So I looked over to my best friend at my right and to this nice girl and her boyfriend whom I'd just met to my left, but nobody else looked as surprised and amused as I felt, so I could have just imagined it.
Speaking of Horovitz, I had never noticed how happy he looks when he's playing guitar before. During Sabrosa, he looked so happy, it was adorable.
So, in conclusion, it was a great show. The only thing that spoiled it was the shoving. People, people, people. Yauch is not Jesus- touching him won't heal you. Quit shoving, you knuckleheads!

oh yeah, during that chick above's sometimes raving review, i remembered how hilarious yauch was. he started by giving hyper wide hand claps to the crowd for a the first many songs. after the boys' instrumental foray, yauch appeared with his original cheesy t-shirt emblazoned with 'beatsie boys' with the even more cheesy tuxudo suit jacket over it. then he put on rock star glasses.
sorry im a little rocked.
dont know if the breakdancers were mentioned before, but they were great too.

Beastie Boys kicked it up! It was well worth the wait. I misssed the dogs... what happened?
Once MMM hit the stage the tension just went through the roof. Then when the boys jumped out.. The hair on my head just stood up! Thank you Mike, Adam and Adam! It was the best time I had in a long one... made me feel great!

Such a sick show! Luckily I booked the morning off work so I could sleep in a little.
We had floor tix and were right up front to the left of the stage the whole time. MCA didnt give me a high5 but i patted his back. Such a good time!!
It was well worth it waiting 6 years from the hello nasty tour to see them! (y)

This was personally the best concert i have ever seen!

Yeah it was a pretty good show. Probably the noisiest I've ever been too. Mind you not the loudest, that title still belongs to Jamiroquai.
The Dog Show thing was pretty funny and frankly at many times quite amazing. Can't say I've ever seen a better set of trained dogs. Basically you had one guy wrangling about 10 dogs around on various apparati, climbing ladders, walking tightropes, going down slides, balancing on ropes, skipping rope, doing hurdles. Definately a "Beastie Boys" sort of cool.
But I wanted to post about Talib... I dunno maybe it's just me but he doesn't need to be that raw, it was obvious almost no one knew who he is, though I've heard a fair bit of his stuff and it's very good in it's own right, his tracks are very well produced and he comes out like he's Jay-Z or something. Shouting lyrics, and then his DJ's shouting them and I can appreciate he's feeling the lyrics but if the crowd can't hear them, how can they feel them too? I think if you're gonna play it raw you have to be a totally ill MC, but Talib's records play on the edge of crossover... so for me, who's heard him before, was a little disappointed. I think people would have dug him better if they could have heard the beats and he wasn't shouting out the lyrics. I appreciate what he was trying to do, but when you have a half hour of downtime between the opening act and the main act, any "warming up" the opening act would have done, is long gone.
The Beastie Boys were pretty damned good. Props to them on the crowd surfing thing... it's straight up "frat boy"... that said, I wonder how they felt about the mosh-pit of sorts during the last two tracks. MMM was sick! And I think someone needs to give Mike a hamburger or 10 or something... The instrumental pieces (Ricky's and Somethings Gotta Give) were awesome, I could have listened to those all night. However, I must say I was very very very dissappointed not to hear 'Pass the Mic'. Pass the Mic is THE best song ever, not just B-Boys, just PERIOD.. and seeing it on all these other cities set-lists and for it not to be played in Toronto SUCKED. Poo.
BTW... Beasties fans are getting kinda old eh? People in my section were pushing and over 40 (like the Boys themselves). :) Which is cool, Beasties cool, it's just kinda odd to have a mostly out of control crowd.. middle aged. I dunno, that just cracks me up (being 27 myself). Hard to guage how good the crowd was, especially on the new tracks, I mean even the people on the floor for the most part didn't seem to be into the '5 boroughs tracks.. and I gotta say, as much as I like the new album...the new stuff seemed out of place.. perhaps it was the vibe from the crowd skewing my perspective. Wish they interviewed me, I would have begged for "Boomin Granny".
Oh and one last thing, the breakdancers were good, shame they didn't have a proper floor to work with because the rubber floor (so the performers don't slip I guess) isn't all that helpful for speed, the live camera editing really spiced it up for them. Either way, once again, they seemed to fit in with a Beasties sensitibilty of cool.
A memorable show, that is for certain!

Awesome Show!!! I can't believe it's already come and gone. Who knows when we'll see the Beasties again. My friend and I were discussing that on our way into the city. If they take another 7 year hiatus not only will they be old but so will we. I already feel old - We were one of the ones shouting for 1970's!! Oh well. The set was great - glad to hear Brass Monkey. Although my friend was upset about no "Hey Fuck You". The Will Farrell parody of Bush was particulary funny, the audience interviews, the dog show and break dancers (everybody recognize Jen from Much Music) were all interesting.
I have to say also my friend and I caught MMM at Much during Much on Demand. We said "Hey Mike we'll see you in couple hours at the show!" I don't think he heard us. We're geeks, I know. Awesome, awesome, awesome -thanks for the good time Beasties!!

I LOVED this show!
And I must say, my group was one of those "middle aged" ones! We got hooked on the Beastie Boys with She's on It in about Grade 11, I guess... We're in our mid-late 30's now!
My friend, who has been busy with husband/kids, etc... hadn't seen the boys in a while. She nearly died when she realized that MCA was totally gray!
It made her feel better to know we had more in common with them than most of the young crowd there!
Anyway, it shows I'm getting old - my legs are killing today, from jumping up and down all last night!
What a great time!
Kick-Ass show. I never thought this day would come and it did and it BLEW me away. What a set-list!! Full energy and not a dull moment. They still got it...always had. I've never been in a Hot-boxed Arena before. And thanks to the guy next to me (and Wordburglar) for the bino hook-up.

Well I'm back home in Winnipeg after making the trek out to Toronto for the show. It was well worth the trip, absolutely incredible. Great setlist, tons of energy it was awesome. This was my first Beastie Boys concert. I really liked how they mixed a bunch of songs with other beats. I can't remember any except for the Missy Elliot one. If anyone else can remember what they were and on which songs I'd like to hear it. I was amazed how loud the crowd was on Paul Revere, and I loved the unneccessarily long "FRESSSSSSHH" on ch-check it out. Did anyone go to the Guy Lafleur room at the Fairmont Hilton for the after party like they said? :p
Other highlights for me, excluding the show itself, was a guy in the row behind me who passed out about half way through and crashed through the rest of the show, and a guy a few rows in front of me yelling at everyone in our section to rush the floor. All in all, a kickass show.

awesome, awesome, awesome show. the b-boyz are kickin' it as much as they were last time i saw 'em -- which was back in the olden days of the ill communication tour. they haven't lost so much as a beat in all those years, in fact i'd go so far as to say their energy last night even outdid themselves last time around. really appreciated all the costume and set changes, and that switcharoo to the gated area at the back of the floor was a brilliant move. in combination with that and putting the house lights on BEFORE the encore, it really helped to decongest the floor. they truly care about & appreciate their fans, and not in a cheesy way -- in a smart, knowing full well the atmosphere of their concerts, protecting the revellers kind of way. huge props to the no bodysurfing speech. i was about 4th row, slight right of centre for most of the show. for the most part, the people i was sandwiched between were respectful & having fun, but there unfortunately were a number of fucktard frat boys (the ones who inspired the speech), and not to put things into a negative tone here, i'd like to say a little something to them. it's bad enough i have to say this at all, but maybe they really are so dense they just don't know.
- first of all, check your fuckin' head indeed. there's a time & a place for everything (including all kinds of buck wild debauchery), but with a venue as huge as the ACC -- especially the floor area, and especially near the front -- use your fucking head. even squished together, there's enough room for everyone to dance, jump around, hell, even totally go off without hurting anybody. just be respectful! there's no need to have to go around smashing into people & knocking them over to enjoy the show. not everyone at the show is 6' 250lbs, and in a venue that big, acting like that is just going to get your ass kicked, and hurt a lot of people in the process. save the slam dancing for the lawn at the molson amphitheatre, or a smaller venue.
- if you're going to come to a show completely high on e with all of your little e-tard friends, then get the fuck off to the sides or the back. up front, it's hard enough to concentrate on not getting knocked over without having to constantly avoid your drooling, too-high ass as you waver & semi-pass out on the people around you. seriously, get a life. you're high, you're excited, yay you. just step the fuck away from front if you're so out of it you can barely stand, we're not there to babysit you or catch you when you fall into us. oh and do us all a favour & take your just as clumsy & fucked up friends with you.
- aw, how sweet -- the preppy meatheads wanna bring their pint sized preppy girlfriends to the front. well, all that football experience on your huge figure is NOT going to stop you & your precious girlfriend from being knocked around. you may think using your fatass body to shove people away from you & the lady is going to knock the jumping too wild emo moron beside you away, but you're also slamming a lot of other people around you who AREN'T knocking into you in the process. front & centre on the floor is NOT the place for you & girlie to stand still & not be bumped. if people knocking into you is going to piss you off enough to almost start a fight with the moron beside you, then get out of the pit!
- if you are already 5th row, and you can clearly see that each row in front of you is totally and completely sandwiched, you are NOT going to get any closer. no matter how much you try & shove your way through. it's not that people are being dicks and aren't letting you in, it is a physical impossiblity to even move at that point, so step the fuck off! trust me, the view from 5 rows back is not that much different than first row, so be happy where you are! you're already closer than 95% of the entire venue, so chill. the band isn't going to high five your stupid ass anyway!
gawd. i don't understand why some people are so dense they can't get basic things through their thick skulls. there is more than enough room for everybody to have a hell of a lotta fun, go wild & enjoy the show, why people have to be such flaming imbesols i just cannot understand. all is fair in love and floor tickets, so coming to a show & expecting not to lose your place or be bumped around or whatever is just stupidity on your part. we're all there for the same reason, we all paid the same amount. we all have just as much right to get as much out of the show as possible, as you do. having said that though, use your fucking head in the process. there's no need to terrorize the crowd, it's not going to get you more room, it's not going to get you closer to the band, it's just going to get your ass kicked. so make it a better experience for yourself and everyone there by not being a moron.
please and motherfuckin' thank you.

I had a great time last night seeing the Beastie Boys for the first time. I hope I have the opportunity to see them again one day as they were worth every penny spent and them some.
Did anyone see Bob Monroe and his Amazing Mongrels to start the night off? I never thought I would see a dog circus act to open a concert! A half time show at a Toronto Raptor game, yes, but a concert?
The Tour Blog section does not have the correct setlist. Here is the correct setlist:

11. Sabrosa
12. Ricky's Theme
13. Something's Got To Give (End band set 10:05PM MMM rolls back out. The Beastie Boys do another costume change. The Boys return at 10:08PM)

Amazing show.
Gotta agree though, there were some real pricks in the audience, The 2 clowns in the white jump suits that kept crowd surfing should have been kicked out the first time. The same guy who was at least 6ft was up there 3 times before the boys told them to grow up.
I love how they don't oversell the GA in toronto, I was 10 ft from the barriers and didn't get pushed around at all.
Can't wait to see them again (hopefully !)

Second time seein them and ..WOW I was blown away. I had GREAT seats section 107 row 5 and when the came to the center floor, they were right in front of me. KICK MY HEAD IN :D
The boys energy was amazing. They were definately doing it for the fans.
I think at this point in my life I can honestly say..they are the best in the biz.

I also want to say that one of my favorite parts of the show were the instrumentals. It was so nice to be able to close your eyes, feel that bass, smell the weed in the air and know you're among good people. :)
Props to all the potheads for representing!!

Yeah, she was with her mom. The 3 of them were just behind me in line. That's sweet though, getting to meet them (if they did) at 12, wow!

I want to go back. SUCH an awesome show. I'm charged up, with nowhere to go now 'cept back to school tomorrow morning. Bu-Mmer.
I can't believe they wipped out Paul Revere last night. I have a video of my brother and I rapping that during a family function when I was 14, and wearing a Beaver Canoe sweatshirt. Those were the DAYS.
Damn, that concert was unbelievably fresh.

Hey BB Girlie, you must have been sitting a few rows behind me because I was in Sec. 107 Row 1. I was the one wearing the blond wig and the blue tinsel.
The show was un-fucking-believable. When they performed Intergalactic right in front of us, that was the most amazing thing ever. They were like RIGHT in front of us and Adrock definitely looked right at our section.
Woo hoo

That concert was the most amazing experience of my life. I hope it's less than six years before they come back to Toronto cause I can't afford to travel. The only song they didn't play that I expected them to was Pass the Mic... but that's okay, Skills to pay the bills made up for that.... Sheesh, good pageant boys... Oh, and I got a special souvenir from the A.C.C.... thanks to my friend bailey
P.S. I'm failing economics because I was too excited for the pageant to study for the midterm
I don't want to do school, I just wanna follow the beastie boys on their tour and go to every show...

Wow. AMAZING show, couldn't hear much of when any of the boys were talking or when they played that video, too high up in the nose bleed section. I'm getting floors no questions asked next time.
and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for playing Brass Monkey and Whatcha Want... and 3 mcs and 1 dj, the set list was fucking awesome.

THE BEASTIE BOYS KICKED MY ASS LAST NIGHT!!!!
The show was amazing start to finish they played everything I wanted them to play, well everything except Pass The Mic but I ain't complaining I loved the show. They were hilarious in between songs, I liked the bit when Mike D was giving MMM props and said MMM was " like in Silence Of The Lambs and he's gonna come to your fridge and snatch the meat out of the freezer and chop it up" or when someone threw up a tuxedo on stage and MCA put on that funny baby blue tuxedo and said " hey this is a Joe Jackson suit here".
This was my first real Beastie Boys show since I missed out on the Hello Nasty tour, but I did catch their performance at the MMVA's in June and also met MIKE D and ADROCK at the EDGE 102 radio interview. Well anyways THANK YOU BEASTIE BOYS for such a great time.
Too bad I missed the dog show and most of Talib but I was sitting second row on the top balcony and I couldn't believe how pumped I was as soon as the light's went out at about 9:10pm and the crowd started roaring. Like I said the show KICKED SOME MAJOR ASS!!! and I loved SURESHOT, EGGMAN, SUPER DISCO BREAKIN, WELL I, LOVED THE WHOLE DAMN THING!!!!
And like I said I was sitting on the top balcony but I was standing the whole show with the rump shakin action but too bad almost everyone around me were sitting down pretty much the whole time. But I gotta mention one STUPID SHITTY THING THAT PISSED ME OFF and that was during BRASS MONKEY I was so into it and and then some dumb girl behind me kicked me with both her feet telling me to move to the side cause I was blocking her and boyfriend's view. I mean they were both sitting there too lazy to stand up and she's complaining cause's I'm having a good time. Well she said it again during CHECK IT OUT so I told her to stand up but they wouldn't so I just ignored them for the rest of the show.
Anyways I LOVED THE SHOW!!!!! to say the least and THANK YOU BEASTIE BOYS FOR SUCH A GREAT SHOW!!!!!

Such a great show!
And it's true, only in Canada would security turn their heads! I didn't even get searched (kinda dangerous, no?).... I was so scared, I smoked up outside before going in. I thought for sure we'd all get searched!
What an experience! Wish I had floor seats; I would have absolutely lost it! Everyone is so reserved in the nosebleed seats
QUESTION:
They used Missy Elliot's song as a mix.... what song were they singing with it? I think I ran to the bathroom at that point....

hey Macaroni...I TOTALLY saw you there!!! How funny is that?
Well as far as people telling others to sit down(Benny)..I've come to expect that at a show...But I wouldn't have taken that shit at this one. I'm glad you told them to stand up (y) Good for you!!!

I just have to say THANK YOU to those two young men who graciously hooked us up to have the best seats in the house (sec. 108, row 5). To move from the nose bleeds to those seats, a blessing. I can't thank you enough.
and thanks to 'gina for selling me her tix to begin with...

And like I said I was sitting on the top balcony but I was standing the whole show with the rump shakin action but too bad almost everyone around me were sitting down pretty much the whole time.
Some of us needed to be seated, like myself who was front row balconey, my boyfriend has leg issues. Just because we were sitting, didn't mean we weren't rocking out just as hard as the people on the floor. But that chick shouldn't have kicked you.
What an experience! The Beasties rocked the ACC. I loved that they did some old skool. Our posse are mostly middle agers-25 to 30 years in age. We are the 80's fans who just keep lovin' the boys with every new album they put out.
The concert was the all time best. So creative and loud. I loved it, loved it, loved it....yeah, you could say I loved it!
Toronto is the best city in the world, and we rocked on Monday night!
I hope this isn't the Beasties last time around. Anyone have any info about that? They need to keep touring until they look like those dirty old men (you know the ones, they bear a resemblance to the Beasties! check your album covers y'all!)
Peace

That is absolutely amazing. At the very least, you guys got recognized and that says a lot about the Beastie Boys!!!
I can't believe that girl (yes the one with the blue wig) was only 12 and got to meet them. That would definitely be a dream come true for me.

Well, that was the first time I had ever seen the Beastie Boys. I was pretty impressed with how energetic the performance was, and Mix Master Mike really blew me away. I was surprised and also very impressed when they brought out their instruments - MCA still plays a mean bass. Paul Revere, Shake Your Rump, Intergalactic, Root Down, Sabotage, Sure Shot ... all the classics were there.
One thing I didn't like was that often the three of them would shout so loudly that the mirophones would saturate at it would be impossible to hear the lyrics, let alone the beat behind them. It was pretty bad at the beginning but I think it improved later on in the concert as they got used to the AAC setup. "The Move" was pretty incoherent but "Paul Revere" came through loud and clear. Maybe I'm just not used to it because I don't go to concerts very often.
Another thing that was a pain in the ass was the marijuana smokers in my row. I wasn't smoking at the concert and didn't plan on it, but I didn't really have a choice since it was in my face all night long.
Minor complaints aside, the Beastie Boys rocked.
Oh, and one more thing, I noticed they played Beatles songs before the show started. I caught "I am the Walrus" and "Blackbird". Very strange, in a dog show kind of way, but cool nonetheless.

Anyone have any suggestions for someone who is suffering from Post-Beastie Boys-Depression?
I heard Intergalactic playing today on the radio and it brought back such fond memories... and then I realized it was only memories.
They BETTER come back to TORONTO!!! :)

Hey Jennie,
I'm with you there. They will definitely be back in Toronto, if we know them well enough. They will likely be in the biz for more years to come.
But one thing that pisses me off is the stupid Toronto newspapers. Not ONE review of the show. I bought the Sun and the Star hoping for something, and nada. The Ottawa papers managed to cover them really well. What gives?
Watch Conan tonight. The performance should be a small treat, even if we're not in the same room as them.

Hey T.O.
First post but long time bboys fan. What a friggin show the other night. First time I've seen them since I was 15. And that was 14 years ago. To make a long story short I ended up in a private box for the night and had a friggin amazing time. The complimentary beverages didn't help though. I hope someone posts some pictures or audio. Best concert I've been too. Later Gang.

He's right....here's the message you get when trying to create a new account.

since its so hard to get an account on this site, why dont we share a login name since there is always 100000 people. if one person can crack in when there are available spots, how about making a login like "BeastieBoysBoard" and the password beasties or something so we can all get in, ill do the same if i can get in

It doesn't matter, there is no one seeding the torrent at Easytree anymore, the link is entirely gone for that matter :(
Edit: therefore, methinks the best place is the Hub. Although, besides Wints, who has it?
