I have not been to a live concert since the 80's. For many of the people there last night- since you were born! I vowed that if I ever attended a live event- it would be the Beastie Boys.
I have been a fan since I bought my first tape when I was 13.

Being a young lady from a "good, respectable home", naturally my mother disproved of this "noise" and her daughter listening to this.
One day she came into my room and grabbed the tape (you do remember tapes right?) and Banned the B-Boys from the house.
Hell hath no fury like a teenage girl mad at her mother- let me tell you.
I bought another copy and left it in the trusty hands of my best friend who had a way cooler mom.
18 years later- Adam (just as hot as when he was in Lost Angels) Adam & the Mikes still fascinate me. I was particularly impressed with how they put an end to the Body surfing. This is a stupid practice that only hurts people.
Although I was wearing a Beastie Boys shirt older than most of the crowd...I am happy that I went.
For those of you that missed the show- go see it in a town near you.
I visit NYC on business from time to time and I think that it is the best city in the world (yeah, yeah, yeah even Toronto-those of you whining-have you been there>?)
Hope to catch the boys in their home town some day. That would be awesome!
Anyway- moral of the story kids- don't let anyone influence your taste in music or style....if I did...look what I would be missing!
