the security dude got pissed at me when i went to see bad religion and rise against a coupld weeks ago for taking pictures. and now i hear the nassau show wont allow cams? whats the big deal? has it gotten that commercial that by taking a picture it is like stealing a little glimpse of the concert that doesn't belong to us or something? retarded. these idiots need to let us have some fun, not make it all about you cant do this you cant do that. im gonna try to get into nassau with my cam, and some dude will probably be puffin his cheeba right next to me and i'll get yelled at for taking pictures. go figure. at least i got 130 beauties from the MSG show :)

well they allow cams some places and others not. i got cams in the tweeter center and msg to see them, why not nassau? and why not bad religion?

that is a very good point. if you sneak a camera in you should turn off the flash when you take pictures. flashes can trigger a seizure, or even if not a full on seizure they can make a person with epilepsy feel spaced out. so not using the flash would be the respectful thing to do.

i have heard adrock at concerts in the past say "ok everyone get your camera phones out and take a picture now so that we can get it over with and enjoy the rest of the show." or something like that.

Why some venues and not others? Well, venues often ban cameras. Not the band.

At a couple of shows at least on this current Beastie Boys tour, I have had an AAA pass, along with a photo pass and still not been allowed to take photos by venue management. One venue wanted to charge us US$15,000 for the right to do so. They're nuts.

I figured that was the reason, I knew the Beasties didn't ban cameras, because I had cams at other Beasties shows. But WHY? Why do they want to control each and every thing us fans do. As if taking a picture was stealing a piece of the show. Gimme a break.

Yes it's stupid...I agree. The real reason why cameras are not allowed at shows is at the request of the performer. For any actor, singer, dancer...performer on stage, it's annoying to have flashes going off in the thousands while your perfoming a set. In some cases it's copyright and the venue's rules But mostly it's the flashes. Bring a camera phone...those are cool. -EMC
