"Howard is a voice of political empowerment and that to me is important, for the Democrats to get their sea legs back as quickly as possible, to get beyond the disappointment of the last week and to believe there is a bright future ahead for the Democratic Party."
Dean has been outspoken since the beginning of his presidential bid in saying that the Democratic Party must establish a separate and unique identity from Republicans.

No way man. Dean has balls. He actually got Kerry and all of the other centrist/Republican-lite Democrats talking like real Democrats during the primaries.

Do you think he can do it? Or, will all of the moderate/Clintonites/Terry McAuliffe people conspire against him? Because if they do, I don't see the Dems doing much in '08.

It's pretty obvious this country isn't ready for the "real deal".

But the Dems did get FDR in the White House and came really close with RFK.
GO DEAN!

The Question is how much "Schmear Material" Does He Have? Let's Get it out NOW, so that the public will be sick of it by 2008. Stupid Public..... ;)
I'm no Political Strategist, But It sounds like a brilliant Idea....(stroke stroke stroke) With the Blog-O-Sphere, or whatever you want to call it, we can bring out "The Dirt" now, and wear it into the ground by the Primaries...... ;)
Please, Throw your criticisms out there..... (y)

Dean's got a good shot, especially after another electoral defeat for the moderate-controlled Democratic Party. But look for the Republican-lite bastards to do their best to stop him.
Man, I can hear Lieberman now, speaking out against Dean...

They're bastards. Thanks to Clinton, we got Republican policies such as welfare reform and NAFTA.
WAY TO GO CLINTON! (http://archive.salon.com/books/int/2004/06/28/tomfranks/index.html) (n)
"He signed off on NAFTA, on welfare reform, on so many other Republican issues. He basically accepted the Reagan agenda on economic issues, whether it was deregulating the banks, doing away with New Deal farm policy, doing away with welfare, deregulating telecom, free trade. In all those ways, he was essentially a Republican."
"I talked to several people in Wichita -- I quote one of them in the book -- who come right out and say, 'When the Democrats went with NAFTA, they no longer had anything to offer me, and I started voting Republican.' That is a catastrophe."

Dean's not done and we don't need a third party, IF Dean can become the chairman of the DNC. If not, the Dems will continue to be nothing more than the Republican-lite Party.

So, if it's okay for the Republican Party to ditch being a center-right party and be taken over by the neo-cons and Evangelical Christian extremists, why can't the Democrats get back to it's FDR/New Deal/populist roots?

What are you talking about? The rules and guidelines of the individual Parties?

That's the media's excuse for Dean's failure....which is complete bullshit. The media and all the pundits had Dean waaay ahead of Kerry in all the polls. The pundits were saying Kerry should drop out because he was so far behind...then the Iowa primary came and all the polls were wrong! Kerry won...Dean was a distant 3rd. The scream was AFTER the Iowa primary....polls don't mean shit. The scream was just an excuse for the media.
It wasn't a primary. It was a caucaus. And that was the first one. That scream affected the people who hadn't voted in anything caucaus, primary, whatever. They thought he was crazy. Because he showed some emotion.

If Dean was head of the DNC, he'd ROCK THE HOUSE!!!
Not only that, but we'll be able to give the Republicans a good paddling and abdulmohammed will be crying to his mommy! :D

Jesus...whatever....caucaus/primary...you know what the fuck I'm talking about...and you missed my point. The media and McIdiots used the scream as an excuse for the failure of all the punditry and speculation that Dean was a sure winner for the nomination before a single vote was cast.
Well, that speculation was based on the fact that he was the most visible in the beginning. He was the one who had the young voters most excited. And that was part of the problem. There weren't as many young voters. But the scream did probably scare off a few people. Not saying that it was the only thing. Just a factor.
