David Cobb and Michael Badnarik, the 2004 Green and Libertarian presidential candidates, today announced their joint intent to secure a recount of presidential ballots cast in Ohio.

"Due to widespread reports of irregularities in Ohio's voting process, we are compelled to demand a recount of the Ohio presidential vote," the two candidates said in a joint statement. "Voting is at the heart of the American political process and its integrity must be preserved. When Americans stand in line for hours to exercise their right to vote, they need to know that their votes will be counted fairly and accurately. We are acting to protect the rights of the people of Ohio, and the rights of all Americans. Public trust in the democratic process is at stake."

The candidates also demanded that Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, a Republican who chaired the Ohio Bush campaign, recuse himself from the recount process.

I will be most interested to see where this ends up. Could we have a major scandal brewing? Civil war?

what on earth would we have to fight about?

also didnt NH goto kerry? It did but not by any margin that makes sense. Buddy in NH said you could drive a twenty mile radius from his house and see thousands of Kerry signs and no bush signs but Kerry barely won in that county.

123 allegations of vote fraud so far...
All it takes is one to discredit the election.

"We know there have been way too many voting irregularities for this to be a glitch," said Lisa Kelly, 45, of Middletown, Del., one of the army of Kerry supporters calling and e-mailing anyone she can to reopen the election in Ohio. "I think it is a concerted effort to affect the outcome of the election in a fraudulent manner."

The subject line on Tuesday's email read: "Another mysterious accident solves a Bush problem. Athan Gibbs dead, Diebold lives." The attached news story briefly described the untimely Friday, March 12, death of perhaps America's most influential advocate of a verified voting paper trail in the era of touch screen computer voting.
Gibbs' death bears heightened scrutiny because of the way he lived his life after the 2000 Florida election debacle. I interviewed Athan Gibbs in January of this year. "I've been an accountant, an auditor, for more than 30 years. Electronic voting machines that don't supply a paper trail go against every principle of accounting and auditing that's being taught in American business schools," he insisted.

"These machines are set up to provide paper trails. No business in America would buy a machine that didn't provide a paper trail to audit and verify its transaction. Now, they want the people to purchase machines that you can't audit? It's absurd."

This guy spent 24 hours going through N Carolina results LINE BY LINE. He showed that while, in every statewide race and every proposition race, the absentee + early voting results matched the final results almost exactly, in the Presidential race there's a 15 point swing to Bush, and in the Senate race a 7% swing to Republican Burr, enough to give him the race. There is absolutely NO other way to account for this other than fraud. In all other races, the early votes matched. Some of the DU follks are starting to look at the other non-swing state data to find out where Bush got his phony 3 million vote "mandate."

Well really D_Raay, we have to look at it as half full. How many LESS voter fraud allegations since last elections... e.g "Voter fraud has gone down 3% since last elections" ..etc.

No. I won $20 because Bush won....(a bet made as SOON as Kerry was nominated).. But if there's a recount.......
