everyone's losing posts. is the forum being purged, and if so, how far back?

vBulletin sucks sometimes. Let me explain.

There has been no recent pruning. At all. The reason for why the numbers (such as post counts) have changed is because in the past when we pruned, vBulletin deleted way old posts/threads, but did not update user post counts and forum statistics to reflect the fact that some posts/threads were removed. It just did this counter update today as a result of the recent deletion of a whole bunch of accounts as per user requests.

Some members may see their post counts go up, some may see them go down and all sorts of weird things like that. It's not a big deal, it's just vBulletin working with what is in the many-years-old user database behind the forums.

Beth-why are you so concerened with your post number going down? I think this is like the 5th thread I've read about your posting #'s going down. What't the deal who cares? It's not like who ever has the most posts is the biggest fan...much love though.

2 threads, not 5. one here to ask the admins what was going on, one in beastie free to see if anyone else noticed

i was concerned that old threads were being deleted and information was being lost (deletion of threads would lower a post count); thus my question "is the forum being purged?". i thought my concern was clear in this thread and the other.

why do you give a fuck what my concern is?
