Ohio Recount - it's happening!

While John Kerry sits on a campaign fund of $50 million, originally set aside for legal challenges and recounts, the Green Party have secured a full recount in Ohio! More info at www.votecobb.com

It's great news, although I'm not sure quite how a recount can alter the fact Diebold machines are at the centre of major controversies across several states - and there is no paper trail to verify their duff results. But if the irregularities in Ohio are sorted out, perhaps there will be demand for recounts/fraud audits elsewhere, too.

Nonetheless, keep your eyes peeled for stories of voter fraud and check out the following :

If all this fraud investigation discredits Bush's mandate, it will, at the very least, give Bush less of a platform with which to satisfy the evangelical minority who came out to support him this time.

I'm not expecting President Kerry, but if W's victory is shown to be hollow once more, the pressure during his second term will pile up.

I have faith that the real winner will prevail. Won't that just blow America away?
Kerry hasn't really given up just today he said, "Regardless of the outcome of this election, once all the votes are counted - and they will be counted - we will continue to challenge this administration."
Kerry didn't concede because he didn't have the votes. He conceded because
he could not get them counted. Kerry would have to demand a hand count of
the spoiled punch cards. But the hard fact is that, just as Katherine Harris
stopped the hand count of the punch cards in Florida 2000, Blackwell would
undoubtedly do the same in Ohio. And face it: In a legal showdown, Blackwell
could count on the help of that pus-hole of partisanship, the U.S. Supreme
Court. Been there, done that. Add in the ballot-by-ballot litigation
required to force a count of all the provisional ballots under rules à la
Blackwell, and Kerry, realistically, didn't stand a chance, but leave it to the Greens to come to the rescue.
