View Full Version : Monetary contributions for the web site?

I imagine that, if the moderators and admins are donating their time, the price of keeping this site online is probably a drop in the bucket to the Beastie Boys.

But, if not...

See: I feel kind of odd sometimes, since I'm never really on the fan section, but stay in Beastie Free. So, it's fantastic that some folks who have done well are willing to host some parasites, but I wonder if they've ever considered just setting up a little PayPal account or something so folks like me can kick in a couple bucks now and then. Because it would indeed be worth some subscription to do that just so I have someplace to go when my work situation is making me want to pull my eyebrows out.

Signed,

Just Curious

that's an interesting thought. at least if people encourage it. we wouldn't want to make the site appear as dependent on donations though. if someone would like to donate money as a gesture it would be cool to have it available. i'll see what can be done about it.

Ignore "Mae." She can't even decide on a user name. :D

There should be a way to do it that isn't very tacky. Too bad Grand Royal is down; the money could've just gone through there.

Maybe a PayPal link could just go at the bottom of some of the pages; then, if people see it, they see it... it could just say "Save the website, not the whales!" or something. :D

I volunteer and don't get paid and I know I am not in the decision making part of things...but....

I find a paypal account to be inappropriate. I would think that the band and their management have made an informed decision on the cost of running this site and the board. It's a marketing tool for them and it does benefit them as well as their fans.

I know I have no say, but I think it's unecessary. A really sweet thought and gesture though. :)

That's a kind gesture, and we appreciate the thought...but we're a-ok. Thanks. :)

actually what you could do, is to send me a pm whenever you feel like contributing with some money and i'll hook shit up so you can at least send the money to me, and who knows i might even spend some of it on the website.

You'd spend it on cigarettes. While I'm on the topic, cigarettes are way cheaper right here in this hotel than anywhere else I've seen in the world. I'll buy you some for the BDO trip in January? Send over a fistfulayen and I'll hook you up. Word.
