I wore the dickens outta this damn t-shirt over the years. Finally the iron-on has crackled to a point where I can no longer wash it for fear it will totally disappear. Anyone know of any restoration techniques for iron-ons?

Did you always wash it inside out?

I always wash my T-shirts inside out and never tumble dry them and after every wash I iron them very carefully with low temperature over the print. My old T-shirts still look like new, except the black ones, they fade quicker than other colours.
The ones that are signed I've painted the signature with a very fine brush and fabric paints so they keep forever. But don't do that if you don't have steady hand...

You might try to iron it carefully, maybe with some non-sticky paper over the print. At least the bits that are still there might stay on a bit longer.

I think it looks pretty cool the way it is. Just don't wash it anymore.

I had that! I bought the Moog issue of Grand Royal when I was in Australia and ironed it on at this pub I was working at but it came off slowly in the wash because I didn't wash it cold.

I break down sometimes because I loved that T shirt so much. I felt 7 feet tall when I first wore it, impressing the girls who worked at McDonalds across the road whilst in the pub playing pool and getting drunk.

Awww... nice! ^ Hey I just got an idea. (lb) It'd be pretty fresh if the online store here sold iron ons!

Create a silkscreen from the image and make a new t-shirt.

Do you iron them wet or dry? I don't know anything about taking care of clothes. All my t-shirts go to hell after a year or two.

You iron them dry. If you're ironing thicker materials or very wrinkled clothes and you don't have a steam iron you can spray a little mist on the cloth so it irons easier. Linen and silk have to be a little moist. Check the label for the little iron and how many dots it has showing how warm iron you can use.

Ironing your clothes reduces dust at home and that's good for allergics.

My friends didn't call me mum in vain when I was on tour with them....
