Well What A Night!

The show was awsome but i will leave the full reviews to someone else, just have a little story to tell.

Arrived at the arena around 3.45pm...damn, i was not the first person there! Met up with Damaja (a nice guy hides behind that notorious online persona!), then Timmie turned up followed shortly by Sophie...PaddyBoy and others. Just before 6 James B and Cey Adams turned up to do the video shoutouts, gotta say BIG thanks and respect to both those guys for what they did for us...basically we got our shoutouts on the screen, timmie and i appeared at least twice! Even better than that though, after Cey heard Timmies missus and friend only had seated tix (we all had standing) he disappeared for a few mins, only to return with enough VIP backstage passes for our group.
We ended up watching Talib then the BBoys from the left side of the stage next to the band dressing rooms! We all met Alfredo, Mix Master Mike, watched the boys playing basketball, saw mca's wife and daughter, Timmie spoke to mca before he went on stage...the list goes on.

Bar my wedding this weekend, this has been the best night of my life.
Thanks again to everyone involved, crew, band, wembley staff and all the board members that I got to meet - what decent people they all are.
Final shoutout to Shazam_21 who arrived to late, nice to meet you sorry you weren't backstage.

Pete :D :D :D (y) (y) (y) :p :p :p

By the way, the backstage area was called the Pageant Pit and you needed a special wristband (not a Wembley one), there were probably around 50 people in there before the show started...mostly band/crew then during the gig around 75-100 there

Cannot remember, it still seems like a dream! I think on it, maybe someone else can answer.
They played the usual ones plus eggman, paul revere, shake your rump, somethings gotta give...

As i was not first at wembley today (my aim!) then i had to be first to post after the gig!

Hi guys, this is my first post, been a lurker for a while!!

But i have to say that was AMAZING!! What a show, i thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!! I was right at the front (about 2 people in front of me!) being crushed & pushed all in between dancing my tits off!!

I also got on the big screen (i was the first one on in the wig, shades & sideways cap, my lame attempt at dressin to impress!) which made me a million times happier than i was to just be there (which was very, very happy!!)

I can't believe they opened with Egg Man...AMAZING!!

Absolutely awsome night. On the rail, front and centre, touched MCA a couple of times as he was walking up and down the front barrier, on the big screens a few times with the crowd shots, and got an original set-list at the end. Quality.

PS - There was a nice looking girl wearing a yellow top and a hat, right at the front. I was stood next to you, singing quite a bit. If you wanna hook up, gimme a PM.

haha - long shot but worth a try! (y)

Anyway, like i said, had a whale of a time. looking forward to hearing everyone else' stories.

PPS - Got loads of pics on camera phone, if any are any good, i'll post 'em here.

PPPS - Forgot to grab a ticket at the gate at the end. If anyone wants to donate one, i'd be more than pleased.

(iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'mmmmmmmmm doin' alright - Hehehe ;) )

I'll shut up now. Bye

great night, it's mostly been said, but i'll chip in while the memories are fresh and my ears are still ringing...

anyone know why that guy got dragged kicking and screaming from the arena moments before beasties came on? bloody funny, it took about 10 security guards to carry him out, with much shouting and booing from the crowd.

egg man - awesome!

the guy with the afro in the instrumental band - awesome.

the guys who'd spent way too much time on their proper, screenprinted white boiler suits, complete with dollar signs, full names, etc etc - good work!

the massive scottish dude who may well have been sasquatch behind me, who shouted "B-E-A-S-T-I-E" all the way thru - not a lot of need!!!

paul revere - again, we just don't seem to know the words, they seemed surprised, but then i reckon its never been a huge track in europe.

there were a few losers around me in standing who werent up for going crazy - we got a few "tuts" for even jumping up and down, but we ignored them to the fullest.

brass monkey - oh yes. oooooooooooooooh yeesssss.

sorry, this is a pants review, but my head is just banging. my mate took some amazing shots on his digital slr, i'll get them eventually.

great stuff, no disappointments, cheers!!

(anyone meet the jesus man afterwards outside the arena, the one from oxford st - "are you a sinner or a winner" - with the eyebrows - u know what i mean!!)

yeah some prick told me to not get so exicted, fuck man, he could'a got a seat!! this were the fuckin' b-boys - i gotta get ill!! :D

the guy with the afro in the instrumental band - awesome.

wasn't that Biz Markie? i shouted that out but got no reaction from the band or the crowd so don't really know!! thought it was him thou
the keyboarist during Sabotage was the best, one b-boy sentence sprung to mind - "I DO MY OWN STUNTS"

anyone meet the jesus man afterwards outside the arena, the one from oxford st - "are you a sinner or a winner" - with the eyebrows - u know what i mean!!

yeah, met him too, well just kinda stared really and wondered what the fuck he was on... MCA's a Buddhist so he might have heard this and tried to... oh i don't know!! i'm tired but at the same time i'm not!! :D

i couldn't get over how many fit asian (sorry UK here - i mean 'oriental') girls there were - i was like "wow"!! wish i'd hooked up with some now! :p

hey hey, long time reader, first time poster;

my god - was that a gig and a half or what?! the suits for the instrumentals were pretty priceless, but not quite as good as the look on adrocks face when alfredo was playing that freaky little instrument that sounded like farting - I dont think i'll ever forget that...

you guys were jammy getting the passes, we were right next to you when whatshisface was giving you them.. "man just look the other way if you see a pregnant lady or somethin'" - that made me crease up!

wicked gig, all round, best gig of my life :D

how (sorry) fucking nuts was mix master mike, i know he's proper sick but jeez he blew my mind!

and props to talib for a smart set too, that was some pretty good stuff, i just got his album too, real nice.

maybe, but i highly doubt it was biz as he is a BIG rapper, he headlined the forum in london last time he came to the uk so as cool as it would be i doubt he would play keys for the beasties. Hes proberly a session musical or more likley a friend who jams with them.

That man has supernatural powers, he must have been born with a set of decks in his mouth!!
As for the Bboys, well, I have been a fan since Lisensed to Ill when I was fifteen and have never seen them.
I will say this: if I die today I will die the happiest man alive!
How can I ever go to another gig! The Bboys ARE Hip-Hop!

Oh and you peeps who got VIP passes: My envy is all-consuming!!
The best night of my life. I was seated (yeah right) with my girlfriend dressed as Santa Claus. A shout out to all those who gave me their Chrstmas lists; seeing as everyone was so good last night - Presents for everyone!

The bloke REALLY didn't want to leave, so grabbed onto the bannister with all his might, crowd picked up on it then more security guys turned up, crowd ended up getting a nice little pantomime before the main event. :D

Hey people, gig was really fuckin' amazing. Really cool to meet the other message boarders sophie, peterclamp, timmie, damaja...we all had a great time in the vip section!! I have a really great phone video clip of the boys running on stage from the side, i'll try and share that sometime soon.

Meeting MMM (he signed my T-shirt, I told him I got and liked Bangzilla), Cey Adams (what a sound man!) and James B was brilliant, made the night something to remember for us all.

Hope you got home safely Sophie, I think Elaine and I gave you some bad directions in the tube station....doh! Never take advice from foreigners, especially Irish ones!

Best moment: BBoy moves to Apache beat during Root Down. Choreography at its best.

Shitloads more to say, but I gotta make my way to the Airport now and then go back to work.

Later.

Wicked night! Beasties you were top form! Unfortunately I wasn't right down the front but I still had a pretty good view, luckily the seats I had was at the end of the row so I could just stand to the side and see, if I was in the middle I wouldn't have seen very well because I'm only short. My tickets was from seats 53-55 row 18 BLOCK D4 RED SIDE. I dragged a lady from work along with me cos no one else could get the time off to go and I had a ticket spare, she has to go to work today - Haha.
Anyway we had to leave middle of intergalictic because other wise we would of missed our train - sooo disappointing! And seriously we got on the tube train ran for the train when we got off at Charing Cross - I stacked it! We got to the station - it was there we got on and it left a couple of mins after so we was really lucky we didn't miss our last train home! The night was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed every second, so did Lisa from work, but I wish I could of stayed for it all.
Who was the supporting band - we arrived when they was already performing, I asked a couple of guys that were behind me but they didn't know!?
Also yeah there was a lotta girls there but compared to the guys!!! Well it really stood out there was way more fellas there, not complaining at all, very very nice, lots of sexy guys!!!! Hm.. anyway - Awesome night

hey i've just crawled out of bed after one of the best nights of my life so far.
man that gig kicked it.
I was the fandabulous super hero cushmit with four other crazy poeple, fernando the mexican, jazzabell the fairy (stupid), mary lou chicken shoe the sherif and slippy dogg the green pimp, not many people dressed up, but hey it meant my little gang got loads of crazy looks which is always fun, nobody seemed to know why we were dressed up and kept asking us why, as i was cushmit for the night i ,naturally, replied "i have no idea what you speak of mere mortal"
Due to the fact that fernando the mexican didn't finish work till 6, we didn't end up getting to the arena till 7.30, talib kweli had just come on, he was good. I was standing near the front in the middle for the first set of songs, but moved to the side a little bit cause people who had clearly never seen a mexican before were getting pissed off with our outfits, it was all good though cause we ended up on the left hand side of the stage, right at the front, jammin away. Man you guys who got the back stage stuff are lucky mothers.

I spotted santa and his missus in the croud, you looked wicked
saw timmie and peter clamp on the big screen (where were your impressive outfits)
shout out to the guy with the snazy tuxedo with the pink shirt and his partner, you definately impressed me.
saw the three guys with the intergalactic boiler suits and a bunch of sabotage dudes.

enough of my crap
the set list kicked arse, eggman was perfic, i am sure paul jones is happy :)
MCA was insanely good, MIKE D jammed it, ADROCK danced his arse off, money mark was crazy, alfredo was brill mc chill. and mixmaster, well what can i say he was crap, no i am joking he was genious

now i am off to kings cross to look for a group of six snazily dressed and very talented buskers.
I AAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMM DOING ALRIGHT
(sorry this is so long but i talk when excited)

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'mmmmmmmmmmm doin' alright!

What a great night. It was my first time seeing the boys and the show has gone right into my top 5 of all time. Amazing. Not just great music but cool showmanship to go with it. My hair is still standing on end from when Root Down kicked in.

Mix-master mike was amazing, i've never seen anything quite like it.

I have to agree, one of the highlights of the night was the guy who got kicked out just before they came on. One of the best things i've ever seen, i was standing right by it all. The dude put up a gallant resistance to the attackers, he really didn't want to go (and who can blame him). He must have done something real stupid, i mean its one thing to get kicked out of a show, but to get kicked out before the band has even started!!?!?!?!?! The crowd really got into it. 3 bouncers were having a problem moving him then this monster of a man turned up and just grabbed him by the head.... that was the end of his night.

I was well happy that they played shake your rump. The show was just perfect and lived up to everything i wanted it to be.

Now its back to work. The memory of last night is keeping me going through a very boring day.

Hope you all had fun. Till next time....

yeah was awesome. Had a pretty good standing position, less than 10 Metres from the stage, and i am a tall bastard so could well.

Apart from the Beasties's awesome performance...outside of that, the highlight was the fella in the crowd who was thrown out. It took 4 or 5 security guards to get him and he held on to a railing for dear life. Hilarious.

Best song was Sabotage. It's not my fav track, but live it is so awesome. I feared for my life as well, some moshing was going on. Loved the fact they played stuff from all the albums, not just newer stuff.

anyone know why that guy got dragged kicking and screaming from the arena moments before beasties came on? bloody funny, it took about 10 security guards to carry him out, with much shouting and booing from the crowd.

egg man - awesome!

the guy with the afro in the instrumental band - awesome.

the guys who'd spent way too much time on their proper, screenprinted white boiler suits, complete with dollar signs, full names, etc etc - good work!

the massive scottish dude who may well have been sasquatch behind me, who shouted "B-E-A-S-T-I-E" all the way thru - not a lot of need!!!

paul revere - again, we just don't seem to know the words, they seemed surprised, but then i reckon its never been a huge track in europe.

there were a few losers around me in standing who werent up for going crazy - we got a few "tuts" for even jumping up and down, but we ignored them to the fullest.

brass monkey - oh yes. oooooooooooooooh yeesssss.

sorry, this is a pants review, but my head is just banging. my mate took some amazing shots on his digital slr, i'll get them eventually.

great stuff, no disappointments, cheers!!

(anyone meet the jesus man afterwards outside the arena, the one from oxford st - "are you a sinner or a winner" - with the eyebrows - u know what i mean!!)

paul revere, paul revere? i spat every f*cking word.
i must say that no one around me knew the words either.
maybe because im an old skooler or i was somewhere a long long way from the stage, i dunno, but the BB really helped me out by coming to the back for intergallactic (nice touch, did you moshers know where they were, cuz i thought you might have bumrushed the stage to find em)

and i have to add, (my only down point) talib qwali, that guy fell off a long time ago and does not deserve to be on the same stage as the BB, jiggy jiggy, next time we'll probably get a real r n b star (jokes)

nice atempt by that dude trying to get into standing, i wonder if they threw his ass right outta the venue, unlucky if they did, should have sat in his seat and not missed a bomb gig.

luckly ive now got see the three phatest hip hop outfits in the world, beastie boys, jurassic 5 and ugly duckling, i'll never wash these eyes again

oh, just a little in joke heh heh

It was kind of like this call-and-response thing the Boys had going with the audience.

Dunno about the rest of you lot, but I went to the show w/3 friends who also are co workers, but we're all in different departments, and so all day as we've passed eachother in the halls and such, it's become our standard greeting. Everyone else thinks we've lost our minds.

Santa's misses here

They told the crowd to say "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'm doinalright when asked how they were. People sort of forgot later on so we were asked to ask them how they were doing and we were told......."IIIIIIIII'mmmm doinalright!!!!"
Hope this clears thing up for ya!!

Yeah, that reminds me of this funny thing that happened on the way out - stopped to go to the ladies room (it's a long trip home, ya know) and of course there was a line and me and these other 3 women just started chatting, and it turned out we were all Americans who have been living in the UK for a few years now. Weird coincidence, eh? So then, one of the women says "How do you guys know eachother?" but the thing was, none of us DID know eachother - we each of us had assumed that the other 3 were all together and that we were just kind of butting in. But no, just totally a spontaneous happenstance. Funny ol' life, huh?

Well it seems everyone enjoyed theirselves, surprised no-one mentioned when Money Mark fell during Sabotage. He launched himself off a box towards his keys, then ended on his ass. I just managed to catch it, hope they got it on camera for the dvd!

Yesterday was my 18th birthday and I couldn't think of a better way to spend the evening!

I wasn't that keen on talib Kwali myself. He was good at what he was doing, just really boring to watch.

The Beastie Boys fucking kicked it. Easily one of the best gigs of my life. Though to be honest, I didn't know most of the older songs.

Was well happy too. Me and my mate got there late, at about 7:20 and I managed to get to the barrier before the Beastie Boys came on stage. I'm gutted I left my camera at home though, I could have got so many decent pics.

Hope you enjoyed the fact that you got a well big cheer when you said who you were up on screen! Representiing the boards, as I think you put it, clearly got you far! Congrats again on ya wedding!

I had the best time. Thanks to Shazam_21, who hooked me up with 2 seating tkts, me and my sis made it down and what a night. She isn't quite crazy beastie boys but certainly is now. Adrock put in some performance, just in general an amazing show.

Honestly I still can't quite put it into words. Didn't see too many other 15 years olds about the place though, but it was great seeing so many people out there supporting the Beasties.

So much went on in that gig and I'm desperately trying to remember just about everything. I love that 'I'm doing alright' thing...that might not be what Adrock was saying to the crowd, and the response he wanted, but it was along those lines. Please correct me if I'm wrong! And then when people forgot about he was like 'And I thought we'd established something...'

Great nite, I'm in a bit of a rush so didn't read everthing, so sorry if stuff I've said has been mentioned. I wish there was some way I could see that show again, or hear it or something, there must be a good quality CD of it somewhere being put together right now!

Ooo and while it's on my mind how about how fast the boys got to the other end of the arena? They must've pegged it!

Super Disco Breakin' - I love that tune. It was awsome to see it live, and of course Sabotage. That was one of my 100 things to do before I die, see it performed live. Tick that one off!

Was also hoping to hear Negotiation Limerick File and Flute Loop. Long shots, I know, but could not find the roaming camera to ask.

Once again, awsome night. Was at the ICA in May, and both were good for different reasons. ICA was intimate and chilled, and felt like they were singing just for you. This was fully blown crazy!!! (y)

Awesome gig by the way!

EDIT: Big Shout to all the people who talked to us over the night, didn't expect such a great response.

I was well impressed. Saw you in the arena, then at Asda afterwards. I was with my little bro and sis. I thought getting home that I should have got a photo of you lot, but by then it was too late. Ah well.

guess i'm going to be the only one to say something negative.

the sound at wembley sucks very badly. didn't anyone else think the acoustics were awful?

me and rirv were up to the left of the stage.... these were tickets i bought first thing on the second day of the special pre-sale tickets. i wasn't overly impressed by our position, considering we missed out on all the visuals.

the boys are awesome and i still love them to bits, even after all these years. the setlist was amazing and i did love almost every minute of it. it's just that having seen them at brixton, with my elbows on the stage, being shoved up at the side at wembley with no room to move was a bit of a comedown. i also saw them at wembley in 98 and i don't remember being that disappointed :(

but yes, MMM is INcredible. (y) :D (y)

Beckalina
12-09-2004, 10:02 AM
yeah wembley has always been crap, I could still hear the songs well enough though
brixton is a much better venue, but they would have had to play like three gigs in a row, hey i could've gone to all three but they would have been knackered.

No problem with cameras unless you had a pro looking one (or pro looking to the untrained eye of security, ask Damaja about that one!), I guess they figure that most people are so far back that a pocket camera wont take decent pics...however we were virtually on the stage with the Beasties so hence the reasonable pics! Miramanee, Prodigy, really!! They are ok but instead of a 1 tour every 6 years Beastie concert!
Still, James B mentioned you when I spoke to him, said he saw you at Manchester I think!
I do have some more onstage pics i've not yet posted, I will try and get them up soon!

Pete (y)

I am the worst Beastie Boys fan ever. Instead of going to the London concert as I meant to do, I attended a different concert. I'm the worst fan because of who it was that I saw. Umm...err...it was The Prodigy. My friend really wanted to go to the show, so I went for him. I must confess that The Prodigy put on a fine show.

I was obnoxiously dressed in Beastie Boys apparel to make up for the indiscretion of being there instead of the Beastie Boys' show. :D

It sounds like I missed a good show in London. Yay for Timmie and Peterclamp! :) Thanks for posting the pics, guys. No one hassled you about having a camera? Earl must have been sleeping. Tisk-tisk. Timmie's photos labeled mmm14.jpg and mmm15.jpg make Horovitz look like he can fly. Superadrock. Funny...

Hey! For Europe, they should be wearing the names of comic book characters on their t-shirts instead of the names of games. That would be fun.

Great pics, Peterclamp! Especially the one labeled CNV00013.jpg. :)

I've got a story like venus's; I bought through presale and all the standing were gone so I got seats. At first I was a bit disappointed but on the night me and my mates were actually quite glad to have a place to put or stuff down and sit down for a few seconds now and again. (We're old, what can I say LOL - I've put in my time at the front of many stages; it's someone else's turn now!)

My poor husband is so gutted to have missed this. I talked to him on the phone yesterday night for the first time since the show and he sounded so sad :( Stupid business trip. He tried so hard to get it rescheduled, but no. (n) :(

pageant pit huh? hmmm.. eventhough I was in the cheap seats,( corner rear upper tier..waaaayyy back) I had a SPANKIN good time myself.
I could see the beasties real well too from where I was, much too my surprise..everybody in my block was standing, dancin',havin' a ball..oddly enough it felt as though I was the only one spitting beastie boys lyrics..weird. new fans maybe? How could anyone not know paul revere?? I was hoping they'd play posse in effect, but they made it up more than enough wit the new style..i felt the show was really short even tho it lasted for more than 90 minutes..but it was a friggin goood 90 minutes.
I was completely floored when they did the encore with intergalactic.. at the seating area sooo close to my block! Now why cant they climb the stairs to get to where i was at?
talib, mixmaster mike, adam, adam and mike.top notch.

nah the Prodigy are awesome live. they're probably the only band i'd consider seeing instead of the beastie boys, although i'd probs go with the beasties instead. then again that's only cos wembley was my first show. but regarding the Prodigy I very muh doubt anyone on this board could watch them play live for real and slag them off afterwards.

thinking about the concert, well just so much amazing shit went on, i loved every bit of it, it was hard to take it all in and i wish i could see them every night. but i can't believe the beasties have been doing this all along this tour, throughout the last 20 years even! i didn't think i could respect and love them anymore (built up over the last 5 years, since I was 10) but i totally do.

thanks beasties for such an awesome night!! it's a bit of a omedown being at skool so soon after though!

Stumbled across a review of the Wembley show on the XFM site:

Beastie Boys, Wembley Arena, December 7 2004

Boom! Boom! Shake the flats! Much respec' for the breakbeat, urban, underground straight outta da hood sound of three greying thirtysomething millionaires playing an aircraft hanger sized arena. But even though The Beasties might not care about the bills anymore, they've still got the skills to pay them...

When the Beastie Boys made their first assault on the UK 18 years ago, there was apparently discussion in Parliament about whether they should be allowed in the country, such was the notoriety of their live shows, famed for inflatable penises and rioting punters. There’s neither comedy genitalia nor riots tonight, but numerous young professionals in spacesuits. For these days, the B-Boys are hip hop’s cuddly old uncle with a past he’d rather not talk about.

But they’re uncles who still love to paaaaar-teeeee! with a catalogue of anthems which could induce involuntary head-banging and air-punching in the comatose. Age sinks into irrelevance when you realise they’re far cooler than anyone else here. Ad Rock purposely fluffs lines and grins widely at his partners’ efforts to keep it together. Gravel-throated MCA remains largely in the background whilst Mike D is as wide-eyed and jittery as he was in ’87.

But in truth, its Mixmaster Mike’s world, the three MCs only live in it. For he has charisma enough to fill this enormodome alone - a virtuoso who transposes fresh cuts from deep funk, electro and instrumental oddities into well-loved tunes, making them EVEN FUCKING BETTER. He even flicks into the Beasties’ inter-song banter with wryly-chosen samples, like the immortal ‘If it’s going to be that kind of a party, I’m going to stick my dick in the mashed potatoes’.

The Beastie Boys have been at least four bands in their lifetime, so it’s only fair that we get them all tonight. Band Three, resplendent in 70’s tuxedos, comes ferried in on a tasteful mini-stage complete with twinkling lights. As wedding bands go, they’re funky. Ad Rock rocks as a lead singer, but depends too much on the pedal named Wah Wah to be taken seriously as a guitarist. But MCA is impressive, even taking on a double bass for a cleansing ‘Sarbrosa’.

They show less respect for “caveman” (MCA’s words) songs like ‘Brass Monkey’, which don’t bear up as well as the new old skool of ‘Triple Trouble’. Even so, when scrawny feminist Mike D claims “I get respect, you’re cash and jewellery is what I expect”, the irony is delicious.

‘Egg Man’, ‘Body Moving’, ‘So Wat’cha Want’, ‘Intergalactic’, ‘Gratitude’… mosh-inducing rap-missiles every one. And closing with a scruffy-yet-with-feeling ‘Sabotage’ (dedicated to George W. Bush), the sight of Money Mark doing handstands on his keyboard is worth the entry fee alone.

So no ‘Fight For Your Right’ and no riots, but still the greatest paaaaar-teeeee going.

Bit patronising and cynical in my opinion, but thought I'd stick it in here anyways.

that is very partonising, im a 30 odd b-boy uncle father husband, and in the past year me and a whole host of my 30 summat year old mates have seen the likes of beasties, ugly duckling, skinnyman, jurassic 5, GLC, dj format, klashnekoff and all that, we be b-boy for life, we still exist, we dont just disappear and buy dido cd's.

It's just kinda typical of the stupid crap that "music journalists" write to justify their own existence and pretend like anything they say actually matters, so that their expense accounts don't get cancelled and they actually start having to pay for their own cocaine. Phoey on the lot of them.

They are all taken with a phone camera, so quality and size aren't the best, but it's better then nothing.

HI everyone!
I went to London from Spain just to see BeastieBoys live. I´ve been listening to them since I was ´round 8 years old. now I´m 25, (So, of course, I sang "Paul Revere") This one has been the concert of my life. It´s the first time I´ve seen them live, ´cause it´s been the first opportunity I had... well... they came to Spain in 1998, but it was impossible for me to travel almost 1.000 km. by my own... They came too in 1994 but I was 15 and had to travel 350 km. on wednesday or something, and lose school... so it was impossible too. So, this time it was the opportunity of my life... december 7 at London... some free days at work... sisters and friends who travel with... and visit a new city for me... It has been perfect...

Starting with Egg Man: PERFECT
Ending with Sabotage: PERFECT (including dedication to G.W.Bush)
Interlude with Intergalactic: PERFECT

It has been the best concert I´ve ever been. So I thank the Beasties for it, thank you all english/non-english people there too, it was great! (I remember the wave just before Beastie Boys... fantastic!) And I also would like to thank the computer who gave me my tickets at the last corner of the arena. Maybe next time we will be nearly... (hope so)

Now, back to work... but I´ll always remember that december 7...
I´m sorry, but I have no pictures of the show because I left my camera at the hotel, but thanks a lot to everyone who posted their photos! :o they´re great!

its annoying now thou, for three brief hours i was around beastie boy fans and nothing else (except girlfriends being dragged there - i see a few girls look like they didn't wanna be there - ha ha!!) but yeah, now i'm back in the real world and everyone laughs at my love for the beasties :(

First post here as I had to add just how unbelievable the gig was and take enormous exception to the 'girlfriends dragged along' dig. I was there, front row after waiting several hours with my best mate, two girls (can you get away with 'girls' after the age of 30?) loving every word, every move and amazed that some whippersnappers next to us didn't seem to know what was going on. High fiving MCA and blown away by MMM. Surely a god amongst men when at the decks? If I never go to another gig I'll die happy having shouted along to Paul Revere, got my vid-clip requesting Sure Shot up on stage (sorry bro', best I could do) and wikky-wakking to 3 MCs... 'What you got to say?'.

Ad Rock, you do rock so well.

PS To that guy who 'accidentally' wazzed on the girl/in the pint glass and got thrown out. Man, I laughed so hard at that - sorry mate, but it was class. And I know how long you waited in the queue too as you were behind us.

genius indeed. was he the guy we were all cheering who took about 10 security guards to pull him off? i'd wondered what he was gettin pulled out for. deserved it. but quite funny that a hardcore fan got thrown out minutes before his all-time favourite act performed for the first time in this country for so long... yes i'm a harsh bastard, but hey, it's xmas!

They still show the "skills to-- pay the basketball on stage".......& what if the women are over 30!!!!!....Don't forget, most of us are that age!!! & even grown up with them not from LTI days, but from there Punk Rock Days......so how dare you say that.....I bet you have never seen them live from 87-94?????

What they should have done is wheel out a b-ball pole/net and invite people up (maybe one by one) to have a one on one with mca, adrock or mike d.

And if you win you get to take whoever you played place in 3 mc's and 1 dj!

Just re-read this thread, brought back a lot of memories. I wish I had some recollection of them playing The New Style though. Hmmmm.
