At Manchester and at a lot of the other recent Beasties gigs MMM uses a different beat for Intergalactic towards the end. It's awesome! Anyone know what it is?

I know the one you mean but it isn't that one - he used it at the $2 bill concert as well if I remember correctly. It has like a trumpet chorus on it, if that makes any sense at all.

I know the bit you mean, it's before the Lil Kim sample on the Manchester show. Dunno what it is even though it's very familiar!

Definitely not that - everyone knows that sample :) .

If you listen to Intergalactic from the Manchester show:

Fast forward to 1hr56:40 and the sample comes in right after that.

No headphones with me, so can't listen to it, but is that the one that sounds like it should be in a kung-fu movie? Been whistling that since Saturday...

Yeah it does kind of, I know MMM does use a lot of B-Movie samples and stuff on his own stuff so I suppose it could be from an old movie.

WRONG. Every time Mike starts scratching the horns on that record,
people are hanging there silent, until he spins it and they hear the
nutty ass sax loop. Then they all scream like someone turned a firehose
on them. Proof that alot less people really know the sample, cause if they
did, they'd recognize it being scratched. Or maybe it's just me.

you can go a little further than that. for the original sample is 'JJ. Johnson - Parade Strut'. wu-tang uses that beat and the horns.

the samples used are as follows:

Wu tang Clan - "Pinky Ring (UZI)"
The 45 King - "The 900 Number"

I know this coz I made a studio version of the 2$ version.
