The most common error is going to be pop-up blocking since the store link runs a javascript pop-up.

Yeah, check your pop-up blocker settings. Remember if you installed SP2 on Windows, you'll have a pop-up blocker built-in automatically which you might not know about, so check that out too (Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Pop-up Blocker).
