View Full Version : Best kind of fondue?

I've got a fondue set thats gathering dust in our kitchen, I'm having friends over for new year before going out and I fancy the idea of everyone tucking into that.

Anyone had good experiences making/eating some kinds? There's a list here (http://www.recipesource.com/side-dishes/cheese/fondue/) but I fancy some opinions.

you cant go wrong with cheese or chocolate....

you can dip just about anything into those

and am i invited?

Just don't forget that if you go out like dancing or something after that, maybe it's not a so good idea to have a cheese fondue! I love that, but hey, who can still move after a cheese orgy?? :p

Oh My Goodness! It's all about the Basic Cheese Fondue! You simply cannot go wrong there. I still fantasize about the time I was in Basel Switzerland and knowing the little bit of German I know I managed to find out where the best fondue in town was from this nice older man. And oh my.... I have pictures, it was phenomenal! Cheese, all the way!

Yeah the cheese one I had in Davos in Switzerland was uber yummyness.

My friend suggested chocolate but that's not even a meal and way too sickly (n)

I remember we had a fondue in the 70's. We had some cheese with some cherry wine and it was so awful we never did it again! Wish we'd had all those other recipies then! :rolleyes:
