props to wints for indirectly helping me come up with this idea...

Alright...so, we have rumors of another leg of this tour. Needless to say, we are all extremely excited and hearts are racing with anticipation of more bboy shows, more plane trips, and long car rides [at least i am].

im proposing that each show should have a small 3 on 3 basketball tournament. sometime the afternoon before the show, teams could be all shapes, sizes, abilities, whatever. i think it would allow fans to get to know eachother, spend some QT together, and bond over the Bboys while burning a few calories :D

you could register your team here, at the site, and the games could take place at the venue perhaps [half court games, call your own fouls, play to 12 by ones, gotta to win by 2]. im not sure how it could work out....but somehow, the winner [it could be of a round-robin tourney] gets the prize of meeting the boys, tickets to another show, perhaps a trophy for the mantle, maybe a certificate for the fridge, whatever...

this could happen at every show...and the winners [actually all participants] are posted here on the site...much like the "Pageant Blog" [you wouldnt need to play in the games to participate]

silly?...yes.
likely?....of course not.
just sayin...it would be lots of fun playing ball then watchin the bboys the same night, plus it would give me something to do other than walk around a city i know nothing about all day, while waiting for the doors to open :D

oh yea...and they hire me to run the whole thing...forgot that key point. ;)

:p
man... i love chex party mix.

This would be a blast, unlikely yes, but a blast. Put it together, I'll play even though I don't have many skills on the court.

I'm surprized Wints and M didn't shoot down the basketball tourney idea because it would give an unfair advantage to men to win.

HAHA......WNBA, give me a break! Adrock probably didn't have any trouble getting those seats in front of the other 50 fans in attendance.

P.S. How do you know it's a WNBA game he's watching and not the NBA?

If Seth gets this thing put together, I challenge you to a game, RobMoney. I'll tell you now that I'm gonna win.

HAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!............You got it. Hey, if ya got skills good for you!

But, if I win I want you to do my dishes.

Sure, I'll have my manservant do it.

ohhhh, snap (y) ;)

This whole bball thing sounds really cool. But maybe we could set up something else too, like something that doesn't require any athletic ability? Because I have none.
Maybe a Scrabble tournament? I'm also getting REALLY good at CandyLand these days (just ask my preschoolers). ;)

Wow, what does that mean?

That means the Wnba is a joke.

The Wnba in all honesty is a more pure form of the game where they have to pass the ball multiple times to create an open shot, and they do run actual plays like a pick and poll much more than the NBA, but they do those things because they don't have the physical gifts that men do to play above the rim. Not to be sexist, but any male high school team will beat the best team in the Wnba. There are very few women who can play above the rim (slam). Therefore they can't compete with your average male high school team who can.

I don't know how to play Candyland, but I'm with you on the Scrabble thing - now that's a game I can kick ass at. (y)

All right, it's on. Maybe Horovitz could officiate, since he's the pro.

he was a New York Knickerbocker from '91-'96, a member of the team that went to the Finals in 1994 and lost to the houston Rockets in Game 7...

and his haircut was correct...

eyes glazing over...

:D

I hear you.
I recently broke up with my boyfriend who was an unbelievable sports fanatic. He had to watch or listen to sports every free minute of the day. After four years of having to watch tons of basketball (and every other sport), I have happily avoided paying attention to anything about it for the past few months. As soon as I hear anything about sports now I just sort of turn off. It's great to be single! :p
So anyway, hence the Scrabble suggestion.

...which I'm really excited about. Let's seriously try to do that if there are any shows over here (in N.A.) next year. (y)

Definitely. (y)

That's what I'm saying...if its bball I'd have to be a spectator ( i suck) and I would rather be a participant.

Hey Seth:

Great idea...although I suck at basketball. But I'll play. We should put together all the "sports" they mentioned back on the MTV Sports interview with Dan Cortez...dominos and skee-ball too.

Next time you're in Chicago...give me a buzz...that way you won't have to walk around the venue all day.

there would definately be some scuffles that break out... thats what happens when you mix people who just want to have fun with people who actually want to win. i would suggest instead of basketball tournaments you have jeopardy tournaments.

That could also be cool.

Trivial Pursuit is also another option. I still like Scrabble too. There could be like a whole board game tournament for us non-ballers. ;)

of course...but, i think that board game playing is sometimes just as dangerous and rough as any on-court activity.

merry xmas y'all.

I hear tpk's game is pretty weak. Or atleast that's what Minton told me.

Everytime he gets the ball he drops it to the ground and kicks it toward the basket. When he scores, he pulls his shirt over his head and runs around doing cartwheels and handstands. He even has Beckham-style hair. That's weak game. Say no more.

This is true. But at least I'd be a contender in board games. Basketball...not so much.

Normally, I dominate at board games, but I have a feeling I wouldn't do as well against you people. For instance, on Christmas Day, I was playing Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture Edition and I needed the "music" pie in order to complete my set and go to the middle for the win. If you haven't played in a while, it's a DVD game now and if you don't guess fairly fast, other people can steal your pie by shouting the correct answer if you don't get it right away.

So my question was something like "what debut album went multiplatinum and contained the following songs:" Then the songs start to come on the TV screen. I hadn't really read the question properly and my brain is slow. The first song title floated on top, "Slow Ride." And I'm thinking "Foghat???? Can I even NAME a Foghat album?" Then the second song title started floating across the screen, "Posse in Effect". And I'm thinking, "hey, that's a Beastie Boys song! what's a Beastie Boys song doing in here with Foghat?" I can't remember the third one but it wasn't familiar. I got it when She's Crafty came up--and more because of a board member having the name than because I know the song. I don't own LTI!!! Eventually Brass Monkey, Paul Revere, and No Sleep Til Brooklyn came up. My friends would never have been able to steal no matter how slow I was, but it would have been very embarassing if I missed the only Beastie-related question in the game.

I love watching Basketball. I'm way too clumsy to work the court.

Now, as for Scrabble... I'll happily join in on some 'a' that action! (y) Oh yes.
