ok, I got a PC now ( I did have a Mac ) so for remixing I'm now using FL Studio and ACID.
but...
I made some sick loops in FL and I saved 'em as wav, but when I bring them into ACID when it automatically gets the tempo the tempo's wrong, i can change it's type to beatmapped and correct it then but when I change it back to loop it goes back to the wrong tempo.
Is it possible to simply just correct the tempo and keep it as a loop?

Hey there
Just leave it as beatmapped and cut and past it in chunks for your looping action. I have never really used the loop feature much, but yeah, the tempo seems to set automatically based on the length of the sample.
To have it remain "beatmapped" you have to leave it set as beatmapped.
hope this helps!

thanks but I got it to work, all that was wrong was that the loop had a little silence at the end that made it longer, then I brought it into Cool Edit and deleted that silence and BAM, the proper tempo shows in acid!
thanks for your help though,
DJ Zap.

With that...when you save the loops in Fruity, tick the "Cut Remainder" box when the save pop-up comes up. This then only saves the actual loop without adding the extra bit. No more fucking about trying to cut it in other apps then.
hope it helps

Adjusting your sample in ACID:
So when you create that perfect kick sound and open it up in ACID and it sounds slooooow and S T R E T C H ED OUT! --- Here's how you fix it to sound "normal".
Goto track properties, under GENERAL tab click "track type" and change to LOOP insted of "one-shot"
NEXT you will see another tab appear called "Stretch" you can adjust alot of things here, for now change the "Number of Beats" from 4 to 1 and close window.
Now your kick will THUMP in time the way you built it!
Hope this helps :)
