I have been saving up for a computer, and was gonna get it within the next few weeks. I'm 15 and both parents work, so i would have to go to sydney on my own to see the Beastie Boys (i live in brisbane), this would cost me a lot of money, so if the Beastie Boys will go on tour again, i can wait, but it was 6 years between Hello nasty and TT5B. What are the chances of them touring again?
I don't really want to spend my computer money, and if this is their last tour, i would never let it down since i have never seen them live.
don´t wait for ´em! spend your money and time 4 this great gig.
and if they will tour again - go there again...
have seen ´em now 3 times. 2 times this year and 1992 in hannover (y)

Problem - I'm only 15, going to Sydney on my own (If i'm allowed, i would beg and beg till i eventually was) that would cost me a lot of money. Transport, food, accomodation etc etc.
Yeah, but if you got the money and the OK from your parents - no prob. my parents had no probs with it, if i would go to a gig with 14.
good luck m8 :)

Hmmm, i'm still undecided though, cause i need a new computer and have been saving for a while, having no job and all.
What about grandpa? isn´t he a BB-Fan?

Beasties gig is one night, computer will last you a couple of years.
Sometimes you have to be practical even though it hurts :(
Unless you can get your parents to chip in... :)

My parents are already chipping in for the computer :o This would also be using the money they give me for the computer.

Does anyone know if this will be their last tour?

It's not just like going to a concert, it's spending a few days in another state on my own, a lot of money...

I doubt that this will be their last tour man, but you never know for sure.

That's exactly why i posted this topic, i thought they would probably tour again, but you never know for sure. And if i miss this one, and they never tour again, I'd never forgive myself for never seeing my fave band live.

Yeah,,when I was your age, I wanted instant gratification. The computer will last you and then, next thing you know, you will find out on your new computer that the boys are playin your town. Can you swing both?

Yah, i had a similar issue in the states, they didn't come to a city anywhere near mine, so i had to hold off cuz i couldnt afford to travel far.
if it's any consolation, i remember the summer after they toured for hello nasty, they wanted to do the "ryhme and reason tour" (which unfortunately got canceled due to mike's injury)....but still, people were like, gee they're not really touring to promote an album or anything
long story short, i'm keeping my fingers crossed they plan another tour like that again, and this time it happens! :-)

Maybe one of the concerts will be live-broadcast and you can use your new computer to watch it. :)
I know what you mean about juggling priorities. This past Fall, I couldn't synch up work, home, and a road trip, so I missed seeing them.
Good luck. If you do go, say hi to Sydney for me. I climbed the Harbour bridge there this past summer and had a pang of missing it when I saw Australia's New Year's fireworks. Take care.

I have an older brother who is on holiday off work, he's the one that got me into the beastie boys :) , but it isn't about someone going with me, it's about the money. :(

You can always try and find a Beastie fan in Sydney who can put you up for a couple of days. That should cut out some of the cost.
For the remaining amount: get a job, lie, borrow, beg or steal, because the show's definitely worth it (y)

ive been looking at jetstar rates a bit, and they are very reasonable, with a bit of luck you could get a return ticket for between 200 and 250. food wouldnt be that much, and go to a backpacker place in the city, itd be 15 for a night. i reckon you could get there and back with a concert ticket, food and accommodation for under 350.
but youve gotta decide whether its worth it...
edit: i dont mean to rub it in, cos its sold out, but why didnt you buy a ticket to the gold coast BDO? that would have solved your money and travel problems.
i reckon they'll do at least one more tour, although i don't know how extensive it'll be. they're not old by any means BUT they are very old for rappers!!

I did think about going to the Big Day Out, but then again, a just-beastie-boys concert would be so much better, cause i wouldn't have to see the shit bands.

Maybe someone has an extra ticket to BDO?

I'd rather see their own concert, though i'd still go to the BDO, but now it's sold out.

the show may just be for one night but the show i saw a couple months ago gave me memories for a lifetime. if you don't go you'll be kicking yourself in the ass when you see the dvd and realize how sick this tour was.

This is a bit of a dilema!
What if you just went to the show, and i don't know maybe try and blag a pc for your next birthday or something?
tough one though.
I'd be surprised and saddened if they didn't tour again, although the fact that they're gonna be in Australia and playing the BDO kinda tells you this might be your big chance to see them, especially when no one can be certian what they're plans are after the TT5B campaign.
And whoever mentioned the age thing, it won't be like 'Oh we're 40 now..thats enough of that', they'll stop when they feel it's right or can't keep putting on amazing live shows. I think they've got it in them to play shows over the next 5 years or maybe more, but again can't be sure.
best of luck with your situation mate
