About 6 years ago, my girlfriend at the time (my wife now) and I were driving down a main road late at night when we saw a cat walking down the middle of street. It looked like it was following a mouse or something, but it turned out to be a teddy bear hamster. Anyways, we ended up taking the hamster home to raise as our own. We had no idea how old it was or anything. We named him Puffy (nothing to do with P Diddy) and he ended up living a long adventurous life, comprised of several attempts to escape, getting lost in the wall for two hours, being chased by rabbits, among other great moments.

Unfortunately, he developed a tumor on his side the size of a grape. We were told that it couldn't be treated and that we'd have to have him put to sleep. At this point, we'd already had him for nearly 3 years. I'd be lying if I said that it didn't absolutely break my heart into pieces when we took him to the vet a few days later and had to say goodbye to the little guy. I cried like a woman. :(

Forgive the utter gayness of this post, but I'm only human, yo. I love these stupid animals.
