I've been noticing that the traffic on the IRC chat for the site here is less than ideal (7 people as of today, January 9th) so perhaps you could offer a Java applet client for thos that are not so computer skilled?
Just an idea, not a request or anything.

The Java applet is something we've played around with in the past, but we've never been able to do anything we're happy with within Java.

Why not link to an existing java client without integrating it in the forum?
