i havent had the stuff in ages, and dont really even know if i really like the stuff or not. but im willing to try some..

i need suggestions on brands/types to try, along with the toppings i should add to it

keep in mind that im at work, and i dont have tons of stuff around, but i do have hot water, a microwave, and a fridge.

if you want the best shit for you
just go to the bulk foods section at your grocery store and buy "quick cook oats"
then throw it in a bowl
cover with water or milk and microwave for about two minutes
careful because sometimes it likes to bubble over
or you can cover with hot water and let sit for a couple minutes
then put in some cinnamon
or do the peanut butter thing, you wont regret it

if you want something quicker but not as good for you, you can but those flavoured instant outmeals packets thingies at the store

i dont like flavored oatmeal. but im bland.

i get regular oatmeal, cook it with water, then put some cold milk on it, so its not REALLY HOT, just nice and warm, and then sugar.

thats it. i love it.

i have my roomate on a mission to pick me up some instants at the school cafeteria, i hope he remembers...

Get your pot boiling and slowly add the oatmeal while stirring. When it's as thick as you want it, stop pouring the oatmeal but keep stirring, actually never stop stirring. when it's done, put a little milk, a lot of suger and some butter... chow down, dip your toast in it too it's the bomb, no doubt about it. I like to cook it with milk till it's nice and creamy, then add dried fruit (raisins, currents, apricots, BUT NO PRUNES!).

Then serve with a sprinkle of brown suger on top...mmmmm.
