Horovitz said Australian crowds were in for a treat at this year's Big Day Out.

"We will be bringing the whole Las Vegas revue show with us," he said.

"Either that or a kid on stage with a bunch of firecrackers and a box of matches."

Horovitz said the band loved touring Australia and usually takes a short holiday after tour dates.

"Australia in the summer time takes some beating," he said. "To go down the beach and let everyone check me out in my tight Speedos. That is fun."

The Beastie Boys perform at the Big Day Out at the Melbourne Showgrounds on January 30 (Bookings: 136 100) and at Festival Hall on February 2
