Good read. Not being a geophysicist, I don't feel qualified to make any intelligent remarks or speculations..

I hate the U.S.A. but I don't think they cause the Tsunami.

Makes too much sense, people can't seem to digest it without a fight. And for what I ask you. Get wet suckers. I have to say that I'd believe it. Reason & Just 'cause. That's all. Par for the obviously wrought course. Props to the thinkers that make it past, and through. Thank God and Hooray for the Beastie Boys website!!! Hooah?!? Check-Check it out!!!!! :D  ;) (lb) (y) (y)
And you know what... it really doesn't matter if they didn't cause it. It's all the same. "...What's it all about..."
"...Now you can jumble numbers but facts is facts..."

I think the USA caused the tsunami, and it was neither a natural disaster nor a conspiracy.
I think that global warming caused in no small part by the US's terrible abuse of petro-chemicals caused a net expansion of the Earth, increasing the probability of tectonic agitation tangibly. Combined with the melting of the polar ice-caps thus caused (meaning there was more water volume, and stronger tidal forces) this exacerbated what would've been a slightly less devestating natural disaster (had it not not been exacerbated by *artificial* pollution)
That or the US military had to appease Dubbyah, and let him set a nuke off underground on the condition that he stops going on about it and doesn't threaten foreign countries with them.

Thank you Ace42, PhD in Geology with a Masters in Making Shit Up.
If you think anything humans can do has any effect on something as inconcievably massive as a plate moving, you're off the deep end.
You could stack all the water on earth onto that plate and it wouldn't effect it's movement one iota.

I'm on page one of what's it all about, Watson. Where the hell are you? I'm on about life, man. It may be overly simplified thinking perhaps, kind of a... residual..but nevertheless, you should know what I'm talking about. And if you don't... stop toasting cause you don't know the real truth about freedom in the world. Can I get one true fucking witness. Just one. Let's play scrabble if you want. Take all damn night if we have to with it. Goodness people. Go with the flow on this. Word?!!!!!

Hah, yeah, and I really believed that Bush was detonating Nukes underground too, Ala Superman 3.
Also, tectonic plates move based on convexion currents in the magma below them. While it seems inconceivable that mankind could move a plate, does it seem so inconceivable that mankind's actions could disrupt that?

yeah but half the shit you claim is that far out there, no one knows when to take you seriously.
But yes. It is inconceivable that mankind's actions would disrupt plate tectonics, especially since all you've mentioned was global warming.

Ask any CEO of any petrol corporation on the planet Earth and they will tell you without blinking an eye how they are helping the enviroment. That they are enviromentalists. Once the EPA came into being the pathological lying began playing.
This isn't a dig against the USA, it is a fact about lies and the big fat liars that perpetuate lies for decades so each succeeding generation becomes less in tune to the thin line.....between lying and pathological lying.
Not that this has anything to do with a tsunami, just the nature of the beast that is man.
Who honestly thinks the solution to pollution is dilution? That's delusion.

Oh, I see, so we are choosing to redefine the cumulative sum total of "mankind's actions" as "The one thing Ace42 said in a throwaway comment half a dozen posts up."
Well if that don't refute my point.

Your humor bypass is well-known, Dave, and I'm sorry to tell you
what you best friends won't -- the scars show! -- but I didn't
know you'd had an ironectomy as well. Before you rattle on about
British aristocratic buffonery again, do reflect on what
"wonder" it is you find yourself in receipt of it, and take a
short course in irony (any edition of Fowler makes a good
start).

Obviously the USA didn't cause the tsunami because there was no oil to gain from doing so.
