Well what a night, it was fucken awesome. Everyone was totally into it but when they got into the instrumental stuff the crowd was confused, awesome intro by Mix Master Mike. Totally digged it when Money Mark ran right around the stage then back to the keyboard and jumped on it. Got heaps of photos from the big day out however my camera ran outta battery so i only got one beastie boys photo...and that photo is of mix master mike. I was in an awesome spot as well...in the middle, a bit to the right, about 4 rows back. Awesome nite, if anyone has photos can they email me them at wheres_me*at*hotmail*dot*com. Ill gradly send you photos of Slipknot,Shihad,System of a Down(all from far away), Le Tigre(some awesome as photos) and soem decent ones of deja voodoo, phoenix foundation, the d4 and 8 foot sativa

eee post the le tigre pics please :)

in march le tigre is coming to Toads Place in New Haven, about 20 minutes away from me. its this tiny club, tickets are going for like 17 bucks. but will anyone go with me? no. not any of my friends, any of my family, no one. apparently they're "just too weird" for their liking. i want a fucking car.

I'm speechless. The Auckland show was flat-out awesome. I saw them play when they came down here to New Zealand in '98 and loved it. But last night, they were in a class of their own: fly uniforms, amazing stage set-up, great A/V and bucketloads of energy. Ultimately, of course, it was music that won-out with a perfect sample of hits spanning their career from go-to-woah. The calibre of the day's line-up was impressive, but the Beasties stood head-and-shoulders above everyone else I saw. Those boys are ageing like wine.

Great show from three of New York's finest in Auckland last night, and so good to hear some of the older classics - too many bands come to NZ and only play the new stuff, leaving older fans (like me) wanting more. Big up Beastie Boys, running things at the BDO! Worth the wait all day in the scorching sun, without a doubt....love that lounge stuff too. Mix Master Mike scorching the place tearing up KRS-One's Step Into A World on the decks....unbelievable, just the real shit.

Anybody else catch Money Mark's set on the hip hop stage earlier in the day? Technical problems aside ("I can't hear shit," he told us), he put on a damn fine performance...and for those not in the know, MCA played bass on his opening two tunes! Mark's keyboard and mic wizardry were some the best grooves I heard all day, even the impromptu jam with the two fans.

Thanks Beastie Boys, thanks Mix Master Mik thanks Money Mark!!! You guys made the whole day worthwhile.

....and next time you come on down this way, can you bring Blastmaster KRS-ONE with you? Now that'd be a show!

Money Mark played at 5.30pm on the hip hop stage...he strolled out after taking ages to set up, casually announcing that "MCA's gonna come out and play bass". Outside the Beastie's own set, it was the best thing about the whole day!
