Kathleen Hanna

[B]Man, I gotta say that when I heard Le Tigre first time, I was just like Oh, shit nice song!
By the time I heard a lot of tracks by Le Tigre and every song by them is nice. RESPECT Kathleen , Jo and JD! I love you. But more than you I love Beastie Boys. And I hope you will understand.

When I first heard them they were playing live. I didn't think they were anything special. They really throw themselves into making a decent show though.
To be fair, the whole crowd consisted of old farty housewives. Plus me and ma soeur.

I just saw TKO on the tele today and loved it. However, after going to their website and reading about them. I am sorta wierded out... I mean I'm a guy and I like expression and junk but I'm a little wary of buying an album that may be solely aimed at enlightening the audience about feminism.
After listening to all of the songs available on the website it seems that every song isn't a direct feminist type song, I am wondering if the rest of the album is this way.
Sorry about my crudeness of language I love that people are speaking out about what they believe in, and I think they should continue to do so. I just want to know if I'll enjoy it, you know??

After scouring this bbs for anything to do with le tigre and with your assurance freedom "the man who got me the goods" toast I'm going on puretracks and purchasing it now...
I'll update on my opinion.

I don't know what razorblade is talking about but I bought This Island and so far (1 1/2 listens) seems pretty good to me. I can see why Kathleen and Adrock would get along. It reminds me of BS2000 with a little more production. Not very much feminist overtones or is it undertones?? I don't know anything about anything.

Mmmm...I don't know why but I think that someone likes Le Tigre only 'cause Kathleen Anna is Adrock's girlfriend. Yeah, I know that's a "bad thought" but it can be possible...
hey I'm not talking exactly about someone of you :)

I'm a dude and I've been a major Le Tigre fan since day one.
BTW...you Le Tigre heads should check out Kathleen's pre-LeTigre project: Julie Ruin.
You make me wanna crouchet!

Damn! My friend asked me that this morning and I didn't know.
As I said in the other thread, I haven't cared for Le Tigre's recorded music. I'm not a fan of the genre and I don't like the vocals.
But I've seen them live twice now and I thought they were all really fun live act--well worth checking out. They did a whole lot with a little at a small club and Kathleen said some really honest and thought-provoking stuff. I was a bit sad later though because I don't think most of the fans came to make their own fashion statements.
P.S. to young women: There is a lot more to being a feminist than going to a Le Tigre show and buying a t-shirt.

It's my problem, not Le Tigre's, but that show really depressed me later on. I can't even explain it.

LeTigre is here in town tonight, and I'd like to go to check them out (since they are playing not far from where I am here at work) but tonight is the Killers concert for my daughter. Soooooo...no go. I'm curious about their performance- they seem entertaining and their sound is okay.
